they've taken stuff from their previous games and incorporated them quite well, like the catching from Let's Go, the alpha/noble pokemon being reminiscent of totem pokemon from Sun/Moon
and improved upon the QoL stuff they added in Sword/Shield like being able to change your pokemon moves on the go, they dont forget moves anymore
