on a serious note, if you don't mind the gacha system, Genshin is a great game. Beautiful game with fantastic music. Constantly being updated and they do live events too. It's an evolving experience (it's in an early stage), sometimes things can feel slow, but the devs are constantly trying to bring new features to the game and they have big plans for its future.

It's a great side game, if that makes sense

For the most part once you beat the current story content (which there's a good amount atm) it becomes a daily check in with small amount of daily quests to do for the game currency, spend resin to get materials to level weapons/characters, and participating in events until the next story content updates. It's really chill and easy to stick with.
Anyone who ends up liking the experience, i always heavily recommended at least investing in the welkin moon blessing and cheap game pass that gives extra primos and other materials over a period of time

you eventually get to the point where getting chars is actually just worse for your mental wellbeing

if you're someone who doesnt mind doing daily grinding to eventually have your character be well built in a few days or weeks then you'll enjoy it

personally it got too exhausting and unfun

on the other hand I'm having a fun time with Pokemon Legends Arceus, yeah it looks like ass but the gameplay do be good

just being able to seamlessly catch multiple pokemon roaming in the field while getting into battle with another, winning then getting out of it without ever fiddling with menus or loading screens is the most liberating feeling

there's no move relearner/deleter nonsense, you can change your pokemon's movepool on the fly from the menu

ESO makes me angry. The negative reinforcement used to justify purchases that people blindly pay into are why lootboxes and pay to win are as successful as they are.

What makes me angry is that I can't say it's not worth it in a purely economical sense, because it really depends on where you are at in the realm of subscription based gaming. If one supports subscription based gaming, ESO is a god damn steal...but if you don't, ESO is a rip off.

The more content that comes out for the game, the greater the divide. I ran the numbers today for a me . It would cost $260 to gain access to all of the content subscribers get for a limited time in ESO, forever.

That's not including High Isle.

That's nearly two years of a subscription.
