Especially Ue4.

Largely thats because the toolsets are limited and every game uses something similar. Leading to a very stagnant visual quality.

Thats something they have been working on heavily with ue5. Adding in a much more customizable set of tools. Mind you I doubt we will see much diversity for the first few years.

Id say sea of thieves is one game that uses Ue4 the best.

The reason controller is preferred is because of the tiny joysticks on the controller. It will never be as good as a HOTAS, but it's still good

With controller you have control over almost all axis movements. All but one.

The ability to rotate in place is kind of a bitch to map on a controller without sacrificing another axis of control and it becomes not worth it

With most HOTAS, the rotation is built into the controls

rotating on all axis

Makes it possible to do some sick maneuvers

Esp if you're inclined to fly with no assists

neutonian physics

One thing you can get away with in HOTAS you can't really with a controller is rotating in place while travelling near max speed in a given direction, but you can without assist on

Makes for a sneaky way of shooting people on your ass or turning on a dime

About the only reason I like Star Citizen. I’m completely numb to how gorgeous and full of life the planets in NMS are. Even being in Budullangr or other empty galaxies don’t make encountering a inhabited planet feel anymore special.

The focus is not storyline, combat, RPG, etc, if these gameplay elements are strong then the uniqueness of the backdrop isn't as important

Hearkens back to when I first played NMS. In my first system, there was already a toxic planet, paradise, exotic, and scorched. At the time having not left that system, I was totally amazed and thinking that the game would have so much variety if this was just my first system

This is why NMS needs way more airless planets

to make a planet with any amount of life feel more special

and to make lush planets and what not feel like a miracle like they would be in the real world
