I get she's trying to be funny and I'm sure that's funny to some people, but for some reason I expected at least one moment of sincerity in her acting and saw none.

She reminds me of a cooking method for cooked noodles I was taught at a young age. Throw the noodle at a wall and if it sticks, it's done....Like she's been thrown at a wall more than Melissa McCarthy and she is not sticking....At All

the only thing i begrudgingly deal with with them is GOG, and that's because it's literally one of the only storefronts that gives you the installer to back up

The management still sucks, and i imagine they crunched the team behind Cyberpunk even more post-release to make up for management's mistakes

as in push for changes that bar crunch as a whole, openly slam companies that do it & demand they pay for the overtime it often entails if they insist on keeping it

support unionization efforts where relevant that demand overtime pay or zero crunch policies at their workplace

I can appreciate where you're coming from but boycotting will do absolutely nothing.
Most of those stories are sensationalised so that some publication can profit from a story.

I'm not saying you do but a lot of people treat crunch time as a hot topic

Nobody has actually give a fuck since that story and just moved on

I'd be interested to see how many people that talk about it have actually experienced overtime/crunch, how and why it played out the way it did and how they were communicated with when the decision was made.

It's always funny how in those stories none of the benefits and perks of the job are mentioned or that it's something that's discussed during most interviews at big studios.

You always get a few people that don't actually care about what they're working on but are happy to have it on their resume/CV so they can progress in their career.

I think QA may have it the roughest in games, at least of what i've read, but i suspect others may have it similarly bad or worse

It's a lot better for testers now but that's partly due to the fact that a lot of people working in games started in QA

It's their job to find bugs, if your design is broken or shit then they'll find more bugs

No point in having a go at them

But in regard to crunch, the whole team usually discusses it and it's never really a surprise when it eventually (unfortunately) happens.
I see the arguments on the internet where people say "plan better" but a lot can happen over years and it's tough

Honestly tho, it's utterly bonkers to me that in such a low stakes industry (entertainment, games) compared to high stakes (healthcare, hospitals), some studios act like they're as critical as hospitals or such in terms of workloads & demands
