Major leak of Twitch & related property data today: https://www.theverge.com/2021/10/6/22712250/twitch-hack-leak-data-streamer-revenue-steam-competitor
No user credentials or payment cards in the data but it contains:
- 3 years worth of details regarding creator payouts on Twitch.
- The entirety of twitch.tv's source, “with commit history going back to its early beginnings.”
- Source code for the mobile, desktop, and video game console Twitch clients.
- Code related to proprietary SDKs and internal AWS services used by Twitch.
- An unreleased Steam competitor from Amazon Game Studios.
- Data on other Twitch properties like IGDB and CurseForge.
- Twitch’s internal security tools.
The three years of creator payouts is fascinating... It's speculated to just be subscriber/twitch direct payments and not even account for tips made with Bits. In the three year period (2019 to present) Critical Role was the top earner with $9,626,712.16 paid out.
Again, that's Twitch payments only and not even including tips. Factor in tips, sponsorship, merch, and other streams and jesus...
