I did one other thing inspired by macross/gundam. A small flyable pod that docks into a larger ship.
Pulled the small controls away and dropped down the large ship controls
Yeah, although currently (as of my last play) ships were also stored as blueprints and could be spawned onto a core block whenever
the building system works by spawning a core block in front of the player, and then building off of it.
Can delete it afterward, but that's how the game knows what you're editing

I play both Space Engineers and Empyrion. Empyrion does have more triangles, more shapes and is easier to design something decent. I'm not worth a crap at either of them, though. But, I have fun trying.

not necessarily - stuff like games consoles is double insulated, so there's no opportunity for a short to earth. an electrical fault on the low voltage side wouldn't blow the fuse, but is still enough to cause a fire

When I was building my current PC< I had the first main board catch fire - 3 inch flame coming out of one of chips powering the CPU. No breaker, fuse intact, system was still running.
Had it been unattended and actually mounted in the case, would have easily caught the rest of the system on fire

if you want an MMO with a great model, go play SWTOR
It's free to play with some restrictions but you get to enjoy 8 class origin stories + I think the first two expansions completely for free.
THen if you want to sub it's only 12 euros a month and you unlock everything, every expansion, etc.
And if you unsub you've still unlocked those expansions to playthrough with other characters
Granted the game's probably not gonna have another 5 years, especially since the later expansions are kinda shit
But the stories are great
Gameplay is getting more and more streamlined, it's very easy to overlevel most content (unless it's group PvE or PVP content)
But yea it's a good MMO to sink into for the origin stories alone
Especially if you played KOTOR 1 and 2
