And that issues with memory management and streaming were holding back some more ambitious and extensive work

which makes sense

it's going to be hard to fix core issues if the knock on effect of those is CTD's or frame lag

I'm not going to hold my breath, but 1.4 might have some more interesting changes

i m looking for a game that allows you to empty your brain correctly

and in that game

there should be this feature of novelty every time you play

and not too much grind/optimisation

for example nms is great but

the game doesn't push you to a purpose, idk how to explain it ): and it's fine i m not complaining about nms

like there is a bunch of things you can do in nms, like in other games and you can just do whatever you enjoy

but i m looking for a game that has like a purpose and every time you click new game, it's different

the best I can think of is chess

because every game is different and there is like no grind

i also think of card games like yu gi oh

there is progress because every time you play you get new cards, so you can play different decks and you play against different decks but the problem is that most of the card games (or the important ones for decks), you have to pay to get new cards

and my wallet doesn't like that

but it can be anything, a survival game that throws you in a different world of possibilities

this is what I like

I realized that, this is exactly what I love in video games because after I play a couple of hours, I just don't know what s the point of keep moving forward

the fact that you re thrown to a world, unknown and you have to discover it and achieve whatever goal

once you achieve the goal and that you understand the system of the game, well, the brain is just bored

i loved shadow of the colossus, because of its gameplay but I liked it specially because of the fact that we had to wonder to find new colossus every time

do you guys see what I mean ? any game that doesn't require you to pay to progress and that gives you this illusion of novelty every time you play ?

Never was my problem with Elite Dangerous. My problem is that FDev completely oversells and constantly under delivers, not to mention all its recent big updates (Fleet Carriers and Odyssey) have been completely unplayable or simply unbalanced beyond reason. FDev lost my confidence as a developer and that's why I don't play Elite Dangerous anymore.

That being said, if you don't do the Hutton Orbital Run at least once then you're missing out. It's fun to realise that it'll take 40 minutes to an hour to get to the station at several times the speed of light. So get a book and a drink and enjoy the void wheezing past you. Oh and don't forget to grab the mug.

who played Destiny 2 in here ?

this game is probably the game that I enjoyed the most because of the great mechanics

different classes and gameplay, tons of different weapons, the gameplay itself (fighting bunch on different enemies that spaws almost like waves of zombies) but more importantly THE RAIDS

I loved playing with people on that game, the raid mechanic require being 6 and to know each strategy of the 'room' or stage of the raid

you can spend

2 hours just to finish a raid

and it's so satisfying to go through all of that pain to finally finish the raid

the problem with the game though is that, it charges you for everything...

the stupid DLC that without it you can't progress and enjoy the game

everytime there is a new DLC they charge you like 60 dollarq

that's why I stopped playing the game

so my question is

do you know any game that is like Destiny 2

a game that requires co op

and that is fun

the closest to destiny 2 could be warframe when I think about it

but warframe doesn't have the puzzle strategy games like in destiny 2

in raids

Also way better than I expected. It's made by the original Resident Evil director, who also made RE 4. He left Capcom at some point, started a new studio, and made Evil Within. He took everything he learned and improved on it too, this is basically Resident Evil+Silent Hill but with actually useful gameplay 😆
