tbh i went for avorion hoping it might be a little less economically focused X3-esque game, which it might be...But it's still got that busywork-ish vibe to it from what I could see

It depends on how you play it. The main strength of Avorion is its building tool, but also the fact that the game can be played practically any way you want. Be a pirate, trader, explorer, empire builder who makes tons of stations and a full economy chain or just someone who ships goods to an NPC faction in their boat or protects convoys, you name it.

I put my tow on a car in motion, dragged it to a train crossing and let the train finish the job. I'm enjoying the environment but wishing there was a better story, building interiors and stealth worth even using. As it stands, sure you can crouch, but in terms of its utility in stealth - It's a hindrance, not a help.

The AI is a little fucky. I noticed the crane that magnetically lifts cars in the lot to crush them can be maneuvered to hang over a nearby backroad and decided to wait, then magnetically lifted a police car right off the street and dropped both the cops inside the car and the car itself into the crusher. I got no wanted level for doing this.

It wasn't until I did it on someone who wasn't a cop that I got a wanted level and the cops never identified me because they never entered the building I was in, controlling the crane...They just wandered around the site, while I dropped cars on their heads and killed em repeatedly

I got out of the building with no wanted level, with the cops searching the crusher on the other side unable to reach me in time for me to leave the wanted area, where my level dropped to zero.

10/10, would crush cops again

The wanted system is a little fubar. The cops are both horrible drivers and impeccable drivers at the same time. They'll fish tail you into hell if you let them, but if you goad them just a bit, then drive into oncoming traffic, they'll in their pre-occupation with fish tailing you run headlong into oncoming traffic and burst into flames.
