What I like about dying light is combat feels progressive. You learn new skills, you feel safer. The story is by and large surface level, but it keeps you motivated to visit areas and the areas have their own stories to tell. The game reminded me a lot of Dead Island.

yeah I'm really glad I went back to it and gave it another chance. i think the barrier to entry at the beginning is rough since you have no idea what to do and you have limited time underwater, that's what killed it for me

@austere lance makes me think of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, especially Anomaly, the free standalone mod. Even with every setting as easy as possible, it's still one of the hardest games I've ever played. The amount of thinking that game will have you doing to do the most basic task is unreal. Oh wanna walk a hundred meters to a dilapidated shack? Well better make sure you're ready to be killed by an invisible anomaly, pounced by an irradiated beast, ambushed by bandits, or instantly annihilated due to a sudden emission that you didn't hear about because your PDA ran out of batteries and you haven't found any since.

If you die in stalker Anomaly, it's probably your fault and the game reminds you every time

I hope stalker 2 is just as difficult

Because more western audiences should be introduced to the games

that being said I still primarily use the prawn suit lol, i use the truck for moving stuff between bases mostly

another point on their terrible inventory management - you're supposed to smelt stacks upon stacks of raw copper ores so you can get the ingots and be able to have enough blocks to make a copper roof for a small house build

that just sounds like absolute pain until you make a big auto smelter

so again most players are just never gonna mine much copper ore until they're at that stage of the game

I tried this on legit survival btw, it was the worst thing I ever did and regretted wasting so much time
