I've played everspace 1 a lot.
It's starts out really tedious but gets pretty fun once you get some basic permanent upgrades.
Worth noting that the game has an arcade control scheme, so no major physics or throttle play

It also has extremely long runtimes, but a save/continue option is available

tried a mission with the assault rifle character and was pretty simple, backed out and tried it again with the grenade launcher character and it was miserable, couldn't hit anything while they were running at me

oh i tried curse of the dead gods last night

was really hard mostly because I had Hades control scheme hardwired in my brain lol

was pretty enjoyable though, I like the progression system, seems like a neat mix of dead cells and hades

the weapons are cool tho, you have a main and a side weapon as well as a two handed weapon

main and side take no stamina unless you finish a combo, two handed uses a unit of stamina per swing but stuns and does massive damage

That and of course Lugaru, that they updated textures for, and re-released on steam as Lugaru HD.

Oh also, what do you know, 2 more tech demos, namely Receiver 1 and 2.

As for the thumbnail, it's the game, yep. Samurai rabbits, wolves, cats, dogs, etc etc.

And combat system is physics based. Back in 2008 it was very impressive. The gore, fighting, visible cuts.

But ye. Gaming industry made some significant advancements in the past 13 years, while Overgrowth did not.
