I guess to a degree as we defeat the foes in the world, we do gain access to blessings.

For instance, taking down the first boss grants you the ability to gain dexterity and such.

Although with the ideal of spells and such, odinic, vikings at least with the lore they have, dont have magic. Just access to things which do.

Humans generally didnt, thats why thor , odin and such had to protect midgard.

Didnt stop humans from using artifacts, which usually ended up with dead humans lol

Finally put some more time into trying the Kenshi demo and it reminds me a fair bit of X3: Terran Conflict, just in a fantasy setting. However, much like X3: Terran Conflict, it feels somewhat...Empty.

Like I can kinda see what one can do in the game, but everything seems like you'd have to have your character(s) train up to be of much use at anything. Sorta like in X3 where you have to grind out the credits to outfit ships to get any sort of trade networks going.

The awkward thing I find in both though is that, as much as it enables one to do, it just feels like something is lacking to draw one in.

I don't know if it's just more story to them, or better feeling combat, or more interesting locales to explore, but there's just something that doesn't click for me.

So the idea is probably like, okay each character has certain skills to level, but having you level each character individually is going to suck, so recruit new characters and have them train at your little village or whatever

It's not too different of an issue from other party-based RPGs in that respect tho

Like I know that's why I'd eventually only ever use like 2 or 3 Pokémon in those games

It's just...Not really that good, unless you're really into spacetrading, maybe

In combat there's like minimal feedback for when you're getting hit, so you can be taking damage without even realizing it unless you keep glancing at your shields/hull.

Was running a patrol mission just now where I knew some other enemies were nearby, and I could see where they were firing toward me, but there wasn't much feedback to indicate they were landing their hits until it was too late.

Its awful trying combat in x3 until you get overpowered compared to your opponent; it really is slanted toward trading

But regardless when you eventually field a fleet you get just as little feedback and before you know it your carrier and missile frigate are exploding in front of you

@winter yew Dont worry to much about wood rot for exposed surfaces. The material wont collapse. It just reaches a weathered state. Generally if you want a structure which doesnt rot though, like say a dock, do a covered dock.
