#

Well the story aspect of it means you have to do all the old raids and stuff

#

Which technically you can do when you are high enough level but it will take a while to get to max level and hear good enough to solo the stuff

#

Least from what I remember. Not sure how it is now

heavy zenith

Hm

Can't steam roll dungeons with a higher level friend?

keen dome
#

Wait did they lower max level with the new expansion @sleek cloud

#

Because from what I see it says 60.. last I played I could get 100+

sleek cloud
#

yeah it's 60

keen dome
#

So they lowered it all??

sleek cloud
#

yeah, it was 50 then Shadowlands added another 10 levels

keen dome
#

So wait what if I had level 120 or even over 100 before? Did they just lower them?

#

Also they added a fox race..ngl it makes me wanna okay now

I'm kinda betting on it, Antem's name is tainted even if they wanted to bring it back

which is kind of a shame, it looked fun

cinder vessel
#

I'm almost inclined to think they might not out of some weird sort of spite/pride?

#

It's already pretty odd EA gave it a second chance at all

#

But it also doesn't have as much of a foundation to fall back on, like say, Fallout 76 with the Fallout brand

#

If it had been some weird Mass Effect looter shooter spinoff, might have a better chance

I hope that they don't offer crossplay and end up bogging themselves down in technical problems for years to come

glass plinth
#

Ok, so valheim sucked me in, more specifically building viking long houses

#

Still trying to figure out the range of a fire to keep a bed warm though. Valheim's discord is completely #@@. No one would answer a single technical question.

winter yew
#

It does look very fun. I'm going to wait a few months before I bite.

glass plinth
#

You worried about bugs?

#

If so, I wouldnt. The games polished enough I havent seen a single bug in the entire playthrough Ive had. In fact.. now that I think of that, that is surprising...

winter yew
#

Nope. I hate Early Access.

austere lance
#

Metro Exodus NG+ supposedly only gives you your guns and attachments but it gave me my armor attachments too, this is great πŸ˜†

glass plinth
#

Its a finished game. You can play through the entire games content.

#

From first boss to last.

winter yew
#

Hmmm. I wonder what reason they released under EA.

glass plinth
#

Im not even sure why its early access

winter yew
#

EA is super off putting.

glass plinth
#

Yeah, I think maybe they finished the core game. Then they are adding new bosses and new biomes all the time.

#

So its like you can finish it. Yet there is always more to finish.

#

Maybe they just didnt feel the core game matched with the full vision?

#

If so, damned. It must be one hell of a vision lol

#

In anycase, damned good game. The construction is stellar. The fact the world is fully deformable surprises me. The fact you can cut a forest down and replant it, basically build anything you can imagine and explore for .. well I have no clue how long it would take to map a world

#

maybe a year?

#

The pixel style sorta put me off in pictures. In action, fricking hell its beautiful

#

HA! The funny thing is, cutting trees down may be my most evil joy. The physics are so fun! Cut down a giant tree and it can crush the smaller trees around it.

#

Although damned you gota be careful about rolling logs. I ended up crushing three of my friends when I cut a tree atop a hill and it rolled into the village killing the people eatting dinner around a fire.

bronze wind
#

@winter yew they do have a roadmap published if you're curious what is still yet to come in EA. I looked at it briefly but don't remember anything

glass plinth
#

I remember a new Mist biome. Assuming that means a foggy area?

#

Update 1: Hearth and Home
Update 2: Cult of the Wolf
Update 3: Ships and the Sea
Update 4: New Biome – Mistlands

#

Yeah those are the planned updates. Sounds to me like they released more or less a finished product. However they had more to add long term and wouldnt commit to full release.

#

To be honest thats smart with the way advertising works for games in EA

winter yew
#

Hmmmm. I just watched a couple gameplay. It really does look good.

#

I may break my own rule and purchase tbh

bronze wind
#

if you want reasons not to i can give you a few

#

nothing glaring but if you're trying not to spend money lol

winter yew
#

The comparison to Minecraft is a little weird though.

#

I can't understand that comparison.

#

What reasons would you give Mr Zoid?

bronze wind
#

i'd say the comparison stops at survival crafting

#

there's no terraforming or anything

#

it's a pretty standard survival craft, just pretty satisfying and well made

#

and just lots of QOL stuff for me

glass plinth
#

There is terraforming. You can dig, flatter and raise

bronze wind
#

dodge is probably the most annoying thing in the universe, have to hold right click and press space

#

ah fair enough, haven't gotten to the point where that's available

#

the building requirements are a little too harsh and frustrating as well

glass plinth
#

Actually terraforming is available right off the batt. You just need to know how

#

Also you can plant trees and grass of different kinds

#

bushes and such

#

Hrmm

bronze wind
#

need to build a roof over your bed in order to use it, but it also has to have a nearby campfire, which also needs a roof overhead, but if you build a campfire indoors it fills with smoke which causes a negative status effect

glass plinth
#

Which isnt hard to deal with, you need a chimney

bronze wind
#

yeah i'm not saying it's "hard"

#

it's just extra and feels arbitrary

glass plinth
#

hehe, i find it interesting they made it so realistic

#

That was actually a huge factor in nordic architecture

#

Smoke

bronze wind
#

It's cool from a realism point of view but when I just want to build a hut to sleep and I have to chop a bunch of trees to make enough wood it just gets old, especially with how sensitive the snapping of the parts is

glass plinth
#

Really?

#

Huh, guess im used to worse.

#

I found it immensely easy

winter yew
#

Hmmm. I see how that could be annoying.

bronze wind
#

I guess it's subjective but it's absolutely not up to the level of say NMS

#

in terms of ease of building, getting stuff where you want it to go in the right way

#

it's not impossible but it is pretty annoying at first. I also wish there was (maybe there is) a way to cycle through your hotbar. Mouse scroll just zooms the camera, I want it to switch my equipped items

#

I hate having to actually select specific numbers on my keyboard lol

winter yew
#

The roadmap looks like they know what they want from the game which is nice.

#

Although, Anthem had a roadmap and that game is 50% chance of being abandoned right now.

bronze wind
#

yeah i definitely still enjoy the game, trying to get my brother into it so we can dig in more. But still have gripes

winter yew
#

Gameplay really does look fun. πŸ˜•

#

Do you play solo?

bronze wind
#

Yeah so far it's just been solo

winter yew
#

Nice, nice.

bronze wind
#

I think it probably shines with friends, it feels a bit tedious solo but not unmanageable

#

I can see it getting more difficult later into it's EA period which I'm not looking forward to. Like currently it costs nothing to repair your equipment which I really love, but that doesn't feel like a feature that will stick around

winter yew
#

Ah yeah. I see that happening too.

bronze wind
#

2-hour refund period should be enough time to see if you are annoyed with any of the stuff I mentioned though. You get right into stuff.

#

also I looked it up and @glass plinth || terraforming is only available after the first boss when you craft the pickaxe. not that you can't get to that point somewhat quickly but it's not available from the very start of the game ||

glass plinth
#

I guess flattening and raising are available with the hoe, digging wasnt a issue for me, since I work on a slope lol

#

Overall I would agree with Zoid in one aspect.

#

Im a solo survivalist permadeather. I dont mind being alone

bronze wind
#

yeah i built my first place in between some of the stone circles

glass plinth
#

For some it may be a bit much solo for many

bronze wind
#

flat ground and looks pretty nice

glass plinth
#

Niiice

#

I have a glorious glade.

#

Three giant oaks overlooking a pond.

#

I flattened around the pond and put my house and smithy and farm.

#

then I terraced around it and placed a square wall with other structures.

#

Frankly I found the only real issue is placing roof pieces LOL, the snap points are damned hard if your not above.

#

However, I figured out a way to make scaffolds nigh instantly

raven frost
#

what is this game again

glass plinth
#

Valheim.

raven frost
#

thanks

glass plinth
#

I was NOT looking for a game to play. However I am a huge fan of nordic lore. In the end I broke down and got it

#

I was up tell 4am last night...

bronze wind
#

is there a way to check what bonuses your skill level gives?

#

it's very satisfying to level up skills by simply playing but i have no idea what my levels improve

glass plinth
#

You know, I have no clue. I just know when my logging I cut trees down WAY faster now.

#

Its absolutely a blast logging , they got the physics so damned addictive

#

Doesnt hurt the sounds rock too

bronze wind
#

yeah i feel like it would be more obvious with a side by side comparison of two very different skill levels

#

something you notice when you make a new character but you don't necessarily notice over time

glass plinth
#

Im mostly building since thats my passion

dry copper
dry copper
crisp sparrow
dry copper
#

Valheim is so simple yet so profoundly enjoyable. I can't wait to see what they add to the game given it's in early access.

#

It's like Grounded, in terms of taking development and game mechanics in the right direction

glass plinth
#

You hit it right on the head!

austere lance
#

Jesus the second level in Exodus is fucked, especially if you read the logs laying around

glass plinth
#

Thats exactly what i was thinking MM

#

Even as the game it is, right now I am happy with the game. Its simply, cathartic almost. Very rarely do I find EA games that draw me in so much.

sleek cloud
#

I think I'm gonna Valheim tomorrow, does look fun and not that pricey

glass plinth
#

Yeah, the price is a big draw too

#

I mean shit, that much game for that little... thats rare

#

ARGH! I want to build a dock!

sleek cloud
#

How does multiplayer work?

glass plinth
#

No clue, I dont do MP

#

Hrmm, Im sitting here talking about Valheim and realizing, damned this green tea is good... why is it so good

#

Realized I mistakenly took my bosses tea pack from japan

#

OOOOOPS!

sleek cloud
#

Lol

glass plinth
#

Dangit, this is way better then i expected.

#

But yeah overall Id like to see more fauna diversity.

#

Not much, just a little, the simplicity in and of itself isnt bad

#

Rabbits, foxes, bears would about nail it

sleek cloud
#

I'm sure they will add as there is a hunting aspect isn't there

glass plinth
#

Eh, maybe. Its definitely a minimalist game in a way.

#

Very swedish

sleek cloud
#

Resource gathering looks fairly important from what I've seen as it is essentially a survival type game if I'm not mistaken

dry copper
sleek cloud
#

Ah OK not bad

dry copper
#

Gathering is challenging at first. Once you get a pick it's more manageable

#

Fighting the world bosses though...That needs work

#

The world bosses that you spawn, if you fail to kill them, they will follow you home

#

It's gotta be a bug...because it can ruin the fun

#

There's no escape

#

Speaking of no escape...What the fuck is wrong with that guy pushing the game "iLL"?

#

He keeps pushing his art shit but nothing on game development

sleek cloud
#

No doubt there will be bugs but from what I've seen on streams looks fairly well polished

#

But ye that's not a bug you want seeing as the bosses look massive lol

dry copper
#

uh

#

You might want to actually read the story. It's a poe.

#

#

The Hard Times is a very real punk news site that you should not question. Just absorb the information as truth and move on. The historic satire site was founded in December 1976. It’s made by a group of punk and hardcore kids from all the different sub-genres of the DIY hardcore scene. Any resemblance to actual persons or band names is coincidental.

i don't understand the appeal of this. Kenshi does this as well and all it means is a lot of grinding multiple activities just to do the bare minimum in a few things.

glass plinth
#

Oh man, its awesome leon

#

Leveling by doing means, you dont balance numbers. You balance activities

#

Its organic. Versus mechanical

dry copper
#

You get to punch rocks and level punch. You can chop rocks and level chop. You can jump in place and level jump. Run in circles and level run...It's....predictable...but it's not so difficult that it feels like a grind

Use a axe to be better at a axe

dry copper

MP can be peer to peer or dedicated.

sleek cloud
#

ah ok nice

glass plinth
#

Although dedicated is a bit slipshod, they plan on working on that down the line.

cinder vessel
#

i dunno i played RuneScape and elder scrolls games, the whole level by doing thing seems nice at first until you realize it's just level-gating all sorts of basic actions

sleek cloud
#

so if someone joins my game and builds stuff it'll save to my PC?

dry copper
#

Yes

sleek cloud
#

ah ok nice

#

i like how the game changes difficulty based on how many players there are

glass plinth
#

Hrmm, none of the action contexts are all that constraining Leon. Besides you cant make a pick axe until a bit later. Its mostly effectiveness your building up. Clearly a stone axe wont kill someone with metal armor.

#

Mind you, you MITE be able to, if your clever.

#

I killed a skeleton, with a wood club, it was gut wrenching

dry copper
#

I was told difficulty scales by area you're in and how many bosses are defeated

glass plinth
#

Yeah, the world will fight back with time. Enemies will build armies to deal with you

sleek cloud
#

with maybe number of players factored in as well i'm guessing

glass plinth
#

Aye

#

Basic

austere lance
sleek cloud

kinda like a Borderlands style of doing it

glass plinth

Frankly its so organic I never feel gated.

dry copper
#

I wish the pick axe didn't require killing that first boss

#

I don't know how spoilery that is....It's not a story. It's a pick axe to break rocks.

glass plinth
#

Yeah, thats the one big gate.

sleek cloud
#

it's only first boss

glass plinth
#

It was like, ok your stuck at stone and wood age, until you can beat the first boss, then its all open, metal here we come.

dry copper
#

That first boss is hard tho too

glass plinth
#

It gives a nice gradient of growth

#

Hrmm, I dont think Im to worried about the first boss. Watched a friend kill it.

#

Just takes good prep

austere lance
#

For example, in Skyrim you won't encounter big stronk enemies like Ancient Dragons til you're in the 50's. In Oblivion bandits are basically hobos at first but gradually get better gear as you progress

cinder vessel
#

Level scaling strikes me as defeating a major point of bothering to level to begin with, lol

Oblivion was heavily criticized for that very thing, because where's the sense of progress if low level bandits are keeping pace with you

dry copper
#

I beat it once just using bow

sleek cloud
#

i thought ancient dragons appear at level 35?

#

unless they've changed it

glass plinth
#

In the case of Valheim, its skill scaling. Since how skilled you are really determines what you can fight. Wana fight a boss, fight a few minions, break your teeth.

austere lance
glass plinth
#

I will admit, when the first grey dwarf army attacked by base, i was scared.

#

The scaling just works in Valheim. As you get stronger, your enemies notice you. You can go into places you shouldnt, but the more you do so, the sooner they notice you.

#

So it pays to get yourself setup, slowly train, then make forays

#

However, its up to you.

#

Having that choice, gives you way more control they say a Elderscrolls game.

sleek cloud
#

ye it looks as though being prepared is important before going out on some expedition

glass plinth
#

The first expedition I made nearly got my ass killed.

#

Ran into a army of skeletons and dwarves. Had to draw them into a canyon and make a run for it

#

Did manage to kill the one skeleton though.

#

I mean what alternative system would you say works leon

cinder vessel
sleek cloud
#

i was quite amazed it's only 1gb

glass plinth
#

Hrmm, yeah thats not how scaling works in Valheim.

#

If you level to a point, the activity of enemies will scale, and they may start wearing better gear. At the core though activity scales, a bandit will eventually be easy to kill.

#

They dont infinitely scale up

#

Not the core stats, gear and activity for sure.

#

So its worth a dam, because eventually you surpass them. Yet they dont just suddenly fall off in effectiveness

#

You get a bit of struggle and reward.

#

That addresssed what your getting at.

#

The fact the devs were able to get what your saying though and address both the infinite scaling issue of ESO for instance, and the sudden falloff issue of say Wow, is good.

#

As for the size, Yeah proc gen for ya

#

I guess the game was designed for itch.io back in the day, then a publisher helped them hire a few more devs, since it was originally 2 devs and really polish it out.

#

I guess they made the millionth sale too today

sleek cloud
#

ye very impressive

#

it also helps some big streamers are playing it

#

they're the best marketing tool currently

glass plinth
#

Price point doesnt hurt either

#

A lot of folks buying the game for friends.

winter yew
sleek cloud
#

ye it's very well priced

glass plinth
#

One thing I really never appreciated about Leons critiques are they quite often counter earlier critiques. Without any clear answers to what he wants lol

#

Its easy to poke holes in design, yet when you dont really nail down what you want, it gives no ground for alternatives, making your claims just .. well hot air.

#

Its something I dealt with constantly on my UO server. Designing a server and mechanics for a group requires any critique to come with a alternative. No alternative? Fuck off kindly sir. People got very good at giving me ideas though eventually.

#

I remember one of the biggest critiques with a alternative someone worked out was how animals behaved, specifically how a dead body was handled.

#

It was a 12 page system of changes and explanations.

#

You can be damned sure after reviewing it we used a lot of it.

winter yew
#

Probably why he's not going to pick it up. He stated exactly why he's not going to play, it doesn't need anything further.

#

Damnit Leon, now I need to apologize.

sleek cloud
#

you learn new things from leveling up ?

glass plinth
#

Hrmm, from access to new tools generally.

#

Say I want to be able to cut wood. My character learns from exposure. Most of what he knew will come back to him if he is exposed to a object

#

So a bit like your character has amnesia.

#

So I walk out, find flint. Flint reminds me of flint axes and the log cutting stand.

#

So I drop the stand which allows me to make new items with the work bench

#

#

Well 90s really i suppose. Reminds me of.. oh whats the name of that movie.. Heavy Metal 2000

#

Slightly

cinder vessel
# glass plinth Doesnt that make sense?

no, because they're still just inept. Part of the point of levels I thought was to convey differences of experience/skill without actually requiring skill on a player's part.

If an inept bandit can hit you better with better gear despite still arguably being inept, it undermines part of what you're trying to do with a level system.

"But that's why they're also scaling with your level, they're more experienced now!" Okay so you're being smart and reusing enemies, great, that doesn't make encountering them in different equipment any more interesting on my end though.

glass plinth
#

Hrmm

#

I guess we have different view points.

cinder vessel
#

It's the classic rescale regular enemy and buff them for a miniboss problem, except instead of miniboss, you're just reusing the whole set of enemies to fill in gaps in high level enemy variants.

Again, it's smart design, saves you resources to improve some other area probably, but it results in a mixed bag on combat encounters imo.

glass plinth
#

I personally loathe stagnate level scales.

#

As it makes the person at least, not creature, feel stagnate.

#

Like a single data set, rather then a reactive one

#

I guess i want the enemies to get stronger, up to a point.

cinder vessel
#

Right, and I get that that's what level scaling is trying to work as a solution for

glass plinth
#

Without it, it feels to much like final fantasty

cinder vessel
#

But it's one of those of approaches you want to be more particular about imo rather than slapping on some low level mobs, as then it creates the aforementioned problem of undermining a sense of progression, which even Bethesda seemed to have learned when reworking it for Skyrim

glass plinth
#

I guess I never really felt that way

#

I never felt undermined.

cinder vessel
#

It depends on the game, of course

glass plinth
#

I felt like, Ok, they know I exist now. Now they try harder, but in the end a chump is a chump and Ill overcome it

#

I guess it all depends on game type too

#

I wouldnt like it as much in some rpg types

#

versus a survival game.

cinder vessel
#

Oblivion was one of the earlier attempts at it and like I said, it was pretty heavily criticized for its approach

glass plinth
#

Id say Oblivion did it really rough shod too

#

They didnt have as much fine tuning.

#

It was right in your face.

#

Wasnt a terribly huge fan of that.

cinder vessel
#

At any rate I'm not against level scaling across the board, I'm just skeptical of it being used well

glass plinth
#

You actually got me wanting to dig into the scaling in the code and see if i can mod it harder.

#

Personally I love harsh scales where enemies have more wiggle room to improve. However, sporadically

#

Like say, your chump is usually level 1-10 in strngth

#

it can scale to 10-15

#

In rare cases you get exceptionally weak or strong ones

#

Unpredictability is key to how I try to balance survival

#

So just like real players, with different skill levels, you have variations.

#

Its the cookie cutter crap, where every solider is exactly the same that irks me lol

#

Which is a issue in Valheim, to a degree.

#

One thing I think I love is, I know I knew stuff. I just dont remember what I knew, so as I go explore, I remember what I knew.

#

THAT ROCKED. They actually let you know thats why your exploring. To remember.

#

So the further out I push, the stronger I feel. The more I need to be stronger, which pushes me further.

#

Outwards and onwards mentality

cinder vessel
#

i prefer different enemy patterns > level ranges when it comes to difficulty/challenge, but i know that doesn't always fit with games

glass plinth
#

Hrmm

#

it would fit in valheim

#

We agree on that

#

Variances in enemy patterns rock.

#

So say, you have 10 bandits. One mite be a sword user, another a bow user. One mite be stealthy, another in your face.

#

Sorta like.. oh whats it called

#

Kingdom come deliverance had that to a degree

#

You mite find 3 soliders and each has a distinct fighting style

#

Can you imagine if you and I had design discussions for a UO server Leon. Sheesh, I have a feeling we would discuss things for days.

#

It took me a week to decide something with like minded people lol

#

So in the last say 5 years, whats the best survival game youve played Leon?

#

it's open world, for one.

#

aka you know, one big map instead of parcels, something they ditched from 1 and 2, and then fkn re-introduced in 4.

dry copper
#

I'm confused by your logic. I'm talking about 3...but you say they reintroduced it in 4.

#

I was given to understand 3 is open so you can visit all your neighbors in real time as things occur, which is great

arctic sparrow
#

yes. he hates sims 4 because of it and wanted to point it out

dry copper
#

4 shouldn't be open world?

arctic sparrow
#

he said it's back to parcels

dry copper
#

Ooooooooh.

#

That sucks.

#

Thank you for clarification.

#

I was given the game sims 4 for free.

#

I never played it. When I talked to a sims fan about it they recommended 3 as the best sims experience.

winter yew
#

mean I stated, that they ditched parcels from 1 and 2, THEN re-introduced em in 4. meaning they weren't in 3, 3 was open world.

dry copper
#

They gave me a list of DLC to optimize the experience, but I forget which ones were best.

#

Some job related one

#

There are soooo many DLC for that game

#

They are horribly priced.

#

Each DLC costs the same as buying the whole game

winter yew
#

that been the case for sims since forever I think, ye. πŸ˜„

dry copper
#

That pricing scheme has been why I've never bought a sims game

#

My sister absolutely loves the sims.

#

Like....She has every sims game and dlc.

winter yew
#

That's a lot of cash to put into a game.

#

but tbh I had the pleasure of experiencing 3 with all dlcs, and it sure is something.

dry copper
#

On another note....Holy shit. Did Elite Dangerous ban players who were slaving noobs?

sleek cloud
#

No way lol

According to leadership in the Fuel Rats Discord channel, Frontier has deemed 7LD’s activities a breach of the game’s code of conduct, specifically the β€œdeceiving and exploiting other players” part. β€œAs such, the players involved in this activity have been excluded from Open play, and the assets which have been acquired through these means, including the fleet carriers, are being removed from the game,” the Fuel Rats say, noting that the β€œslaver” guild asked them to communicate that they are appealing Frontier’s ruling. Frontier itself has not made a new formal public statement, so we stress that this is communication from players right now, but we’ll update when we know more.

#

I think it's the most exciting to happen with ED to date.

#

Dunno why Frontier should be playing God and deciding how the playerbase should play.

what is it with japanese game companies and making antagonists that never die?

austere lance
crisp sparrow

same reason western game companies also do?

money?

raven frost
#

maybe but like idk?

#

I just keep thinking about stuff like MMX and Sigma

#

that fucker just didn't die

crisp sparrow
#

continuing my stanning for R Type, for a shmup I found its backdrop really interesting - the main enemy is a hivemind of organisms that are replicating human technology to fight us

#

R Type Final's last zone has that makeout scene happening in the background because its actually the bydo hivemind trying to understand human emotions

#

and now in Final 2 they're straight up making organic versions of your ship

#

oh I thought the dev studio is some random people but no they're the same people who worked on the OG games

Elite’s dedicated players think it’s a charming loophole in carrier mechanics, but since Frontier just gave up a lot of revenue to dump an entire new player base into the game with the Epic sale, they’re putting a stop to it because the experience from a new player’s perspective is terrible.

Myself and a small band of viking misfits decided we're going on a QUEST....To kill The Elder. A giant tree boss.

#

We got geared up. We got a boat. We decided on a route. It took ALL EVENING to finish this quest.

#

Just GETTING to the Elder took forever due to annoying winds

#

Three serpents attacked our boat

#

We found a trader who sold us literal garbage.

#

Finally got to the boss. I was the tank. I kept his attention and shielded up while everyone else unloaded....and we succeeded.

#

But now we had a boat full of copper, tin and riches we couldn't take through portals to get home, so we had to take a trip back across the sea

#

We left one man behind to set up a portal on this end for future adventures.

#

On the way back over the ocean to the continent we started, we found an island with new ore to loot...So we hopped up and looted it. THE ENTIRE ISLAND SHOOK. It wasn't an island. We were mining ore off of the back of a GIANT tortoise!

#

We jumped back into the boat as the island started to sink and continued as fast as we could against the worst headwinds.

#

Another serpent attacked us on the way back from here, but we got it to leave us alone with a flurry of arrows.

#

Finally got home, activated a new portal to the forest where the elder was...and had a new continent just like that to explore.

#

We went mining not too long ago, only to find out the mining spot we went to was absolutely brimming with copper. What we expected to be maybe 30 copper in a single vein, turned out to be an entire quarry of copper veins all bunched together. We spent a half hour digging out the area before we gave up looking for more copper.

#

Wheeling the cart full of copper back home took 15 minutes
