Started a new run in Everspace to try to correct for my missteps in the first, e.g. overlooking the pilot/ship perk separation.
Still seems a bit of a naff system, since it takes so many credits to afford the other ships, but also takes so many just to get some perks active at all.
Even sillier still is there being a perk to increase the amount of credits you find/get, so you may as well dump a bunch in that to try to make it a tad less grindy, I guess.

I got into the game earlier this year though. So lots has changed over the years since its initial release.

Later he would go lay by her bones and rest in the field where flowers grew besides her bones and have this huge buff to his joy
Guy was utterly kind and utterly happy his mom was dead
So he sorta went mildy crazy
Stuff like that was what drew me into Rimworld. Not many games can generate such complex story lines emergently so often. Some of the stories my friends had were absolutely amazing.
I tell you one game that didnt stick for me was Crusader Kings
