That's one thing that reaaaaaally bothered me in CP. Melee combat is a thing. There's an ENTIRE branch of combat for it....and what do you get for melee....Sword, Bat, Knife, Machete or fists....and they all have the same basic animations.
The game made no effort to reward players for choosing melee as a build.

In a war room, you essentially have a group of devs dedicated to discussing the major bug / issue at hand. And it must be resolved ASAP. No one interrupts you for any other matter. Whole purpose is to focus, inside that room, as a group.
You also develop in that room. But there is a lot of back and forth going on. Other resources can be brought in. But it's mostly devs stuck in the room for absurd numbers of hours.

I can recommend Okami. It takes it's sweet time to get anywhere, but once you're "off the hook", it really shines.
