TIL if you pay Microsoft $20 you can access Dev Mode on their consoles, including Series S and Series X. And Dev Mode lets you install emulators on your console, like RetroArch. Long story short, you can emulate PS1, GameCube, Wii, DS, PSP, and a bunch of other games on your Xbox 😆

can be frustrating sometimes but the way the reset works makes it more bearable, you lose only a portion of gained money/skill points and you can find "chutes" to drop items into during your run which allows you to carry them to the next run
and when you find an armor piece with a special ability (like lifesteal) you can permalearn a level of it which means it will be persistent between runs

State of Decay 2 as well I suppose, just dunno which category it should go into.
It isn't really visually outstanding or story rich, it isn't really all that innovative with it's gameplay, and I don't really suck at it nor it's particularly hard.

It's the only RTS I've ever seen where you don't just build buildings that spawn troops. You have a Peasant Hunt that spawns peasants but then you gotta put em through training in different training buildings to turn em into different troops
But you also gotta keep normal peasants around to harvest rice and collect water, which you need to train troops or build buildings

My favorite part about the game is that if you put warriors through multiple training buildings they turn into different kinds. If I put a Peasant in a Dojo he becomes a Spearman. If I put the Spearman in the Archery place he trains there and becomes a Dragon Warrior, who has ranged and melee attacks
Likewise, if I put a Peasant in the Archery place first he just becomes an Archer, but if I send the Archer to the Dojo he becomes a Dragon Warrior
Then there's a third training building that specializes in explosives. If I put a Dragon Warrior through there he becomes the strongest unit type, a Samurai
And this is just for one clan you can play as, there's four of them that all have different units and play-styles

The Last Remnant was pulled from Steam awhile ago, not a super popular RPG or anything, so that was weird but unsurprising.
The weirder part came when it turns out it was being pulled as they were releasing a remastered version for PS4...So one might think, okay, they'll rerelease that on Steam.
They never got around to that, but they did get around to porting the remaster to mobile of all things. 🤨
