I went and forked out $80 for this portable scanner to scan school books and convert the text to speech (basically turning every book into an audio recording to help study)....
The portable scanner had its own OCR software so I figured. OCR designed for the device must be top notch.

The OCR EULA even says "This shit ain't complete software and after 3 months it'll disable requiring you to purchase a full license"
I'm like....wtf. I paid $80 for a fucking scanner. I got a scanner, printer, fax machine and copier all in one for $20 at walmart.

Basically if you want to be a herbalist, you experiment with ingredients to learn recipes for stuff, but the ingredients for you, to make the exact same thing as someone else could be entirely different
It's designed to encourage commerce
People sell the stuff they can't use to others who can use it, to make the same stuff
The deviation in the recipes isn't so far apart that you can trade just anything, mind you. Different herbs have different properties, but they're in schools of properties and if you learn to craft a potion using one process, that may not be the way someone else learns to craft the same potion
As a MMO, the game is absolute shit. Even playing with friends and family, the game was laggy af.
The combat is janky, the frame rates are shit.
Also, people get right into the combat early and raid your home because they know how shit the combat is and that people don't focus on it...So they focus on forging to steal all the base components from people who didn't...and end up building an empire on robbery. It's like rust, but the dicks are more obvious
Medieval Dynasty for its part is single player. May have co-op in the future for small groups, but no competition pvp integration

Honestly, and I don't know if it's static or dynamic, but what got me interested in The Long Dark was the system it uses for the distribution of loot.
I used to beta test a game that since has launched that had a truly amazing distribution of loot system.
You could explore the world to find loot. It could be anywhere. In a cupboard, under a bed, in a tree, scattered, on bodies, etc....
The Long Dark gave me that same sense of adventure in exploring for loot
You couldn't look up a guide to where to find x....because x moved around in the loot spawn locations
I know that never happened in the long dark, but it did in Miscreated.
