It's weird. The world feels both big and small at the same time. The lack of any contextual differences between regions that clearly have different enemies makes bleeding into the spider zones easy and brutally unforgiving.The speed at which drinking and eating become necessary in standard mode is a little too harsh. Sometimes the character will narrate some contextual change to the region that I think is a clever way of going about it, but not always..and frequently they'll say some nonsense that's completely antithetical to what I'm doing. I thought perhaps the narration was a hint of some sort, but have found by and large it's just a triggered audio queue that is not always tied to an event.

Kinda like if you accidentally hit something and while you're fighting for your life, your character just randomly says "Ooh, that looks scary. I better avoid that"

Bug AI rn kinda doesn't have set areas they patrol, so people are getting wrecked by wolf spiders in the starting area. I'd imagine that'll get updated first

Plus I don't think anybody has figured out how the scaling difficulty works. Supposedly your game will be pretty calm until you have a decent base built and have better gear, then bugs will think you're shoving in on their territory and attack your base sometimes. Haven't really seen that yet tho
