Decided to try out Elex 2, since I bought it forever ago and never played it...and I liked Elex 1.

Elex 2 is a very slow burn in a confusing story that tries desperately to tear you in multiple directions with on the rails moral decisions and an open world that shoves cut scenes up your ass at seemingly random intervals when you hit triggers on the ground.

I tried to play on the rails just to get more of the story so I could get a cool rocket pack, but it was so painful. The story suuuuuuuuuuucks....and then I decided to go exploring, but the map is just a clusterfuck of locations that don't belong and would not form organically in any society

The NPC try to sell backstory but it doesn't fit their motives or the situation they find themselves in, almost universally across the map

I thought I'd get ahead of myself and stealth into a baddies base only to find a weapon I couldn't use if I wanted to with stats on it that demanded at least 20 levels over what I was at

So I uninstalled the game. I don't hate Elex 2, but it's a game I wouldn't recommend to anyone that cares about story or game controls not feeling like you're gaming with a football in your hands.

Yo, I’m looking for a game that scratches that early survival/progression itch. For me, stuff like early-game No Man’s Sky, The Forest, Terraria, and Subnautica hit because every upgrade felt earned and survival had real stakes.

Personally, I felt like No Man’s Sky flattens out mid-game, The Forest got boring solo, and Skate 4 burned out fast. I thought some Elden Ring bosses were really cool, but the exploration side wasn’t for me — felt bloated and confusing/unrewarding. (Just my opinion, not saying the games are bad.)

in rebirth they still can, which makes some of the flashy combos impossible in practise

in remake, getting hit was not a problem and damage management part of the game. rebirth makes an awkward leap further to the action combat side but its kinda awkward at both now. Its more fun, but as ive said before, enemies either interrupt you or they die too fast so you cannot perform the big stuff

I was right, Everytime I changed my settings even if to lower it took time for it to get better but it never got to a good feeling state. Like I constantly change my texture settings and sometimes toggle foliage on to low/medium instead of off. And it does CHUG the game for a bit till it catches up. But even still the base framerate is still horrible.

All low, WITH upscaling on balanced not even quality.

Like if I stick with my settings that I boot the game up with the entire time I can get 36-45 fps pretty average. Eventually I turn like 1 thing up a single notch, cuz it starts to feel moderately passable. And then it just shits the bed all over. So I lower them again, and it never feels like I reach that same peak fps I was at
