I'm actually a big fan of Game Pass, I really am. It’s a great service. But I’m also a fan of having games sit in my library for months untouched, and then coming back to them later after buying them on a massive discount, usually around 65 to 90 percent off through Steam or the Epic Store. That’s something I just wouldn’t be able to do with Game Pass.

As nice as it is, I know I’d end up wasting money during those times when I’m not actively playing anything. For some people, that’s not a big deal and it still works great for them, which is totally fine. But for me personally, I know I’d be throwing money away if I wasn’t using it consistently.

I guess I just need to actually own the games I buy. If that makes sense. Otherwise, I’d totally be down for a subscription model, but I rarely play much outside of a game I’m really focused on, and even then, it’s only every now and then that I switch to something new.

Bit of a random ramble here to match the theme of the channel, watched the new Digimon trailer yesterday and I’m actually pretty excited for it. Saw some really cool stuff in there. I think it said 450 or maybe 480 Digimon? Either way, that’s a solid lineup. The game itself looks really good visually, no complaints there, it’s colorful, vibrant, and really brings out the Digimon designs in a nice way.

Now here’s the part where I might just be nitpicking, but the camera movement really threw me off. It’s so stiff. Like, imagine trying to steer a popsicle stick on a rock while leaning forward slightly, that’s the kind of motion I’m talking about. It reminded me of those old 90s arcade machines, like you're moving around with a chunky joystick that only half-works. Honestly, it gave me classic Tomb Raider vibes, but not in the good way. Third-person movement felt clunky, robotic, like the character was gliding on a Segway or something. Just had this awkward floaty feel.

I’m really hoping that part gets cleaned up before release. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but it stood out enough that I had to rewind and double check if I was the only one seeing it. Definitely not something that can be ignored, especially in a game that looks that promising otherwise.

Anyway, just wanted to toss in my thoughts. I’m still looking forward to the game, no doubt, but man, if they fix that movement, it could go from good to amazing. Alright, I’ll stop rambling now. Curious to hear what you all thought of it too.

Depends on how they get games into game pass, they own a lot but not everything. Depends on what their spreadsheets say.

Even if Game Pass is bleeding money it can be justified as a cost of getting more users. As long as people keep coming Game Pass will be seen as good for business bc you get more people into your ecosystem, people who you might make more money from later when you introduce additional services/products

That's pretty much what causes enshitification in many cases. Sacrificing profit for the purpose of growth without a good plan and then pushing monetization to bounce back.
