Just played a bunch of hours of Forever Skies. I wanna dislike the game, but it keeps surprising me. The grind is there, but it's not so heavy that you can't work through it while continuing the storied narrative. Unlike Pacific Drive, where the grind was so aggressive it was offensive and while certain elements of the game were certainly entertaining, the primary grind was just fucking painful

Forever Skies allows you to progress as quickly or slowly as you like with multiple branches of advancement tied to different playstyles.

Like exploring? Expect shit to fall from the sky more if that's your game. Random events unfold more frequently as you explore.
Just wanna do the main story? Can do. Discoveries come bundled with more schematics in the main quest making it a rewarding jump to take into even if you do like exploring...at least to begin.

The game holds your hand more than it needs to, but I'm playing on normal difficulty and harder difficulties are brutal

To anyone playing oblivion remastered on pc... don't be an archer (this also means don't be a stealth archer). If your marksman (archery) skill gets to 70+, it automatically has like a 10% to apply paralysis to enemies you shoot. However, paralysis causes the game to crash about 50% of the time even if it's in spell form. If you're an archer with this effect, you'll crash in basically every fight you take.

It's become unplayable for me even though the base chance for paralysis is only 10%; still triggers too often and I crash

I honestly don't like that they're doing another Early Access for Subnautica.

I thought Early Access could be justified for budgeting purposes, but I have a hard time believing they didn't earn enough from subnautica 1 and that below zero, to afford making a game from start to finish

I don't know the specifics as I haven't actually seen the code, so take this with a grain of salt, but i think it's an issue with the changes they made to the physics. Oblivion always had physics, but it looks like they overhauled them to be more in line with what Skyrim has, including changing how paralysis works. In the original Oblivion, I'm pretty sure paralysis did not turn enemies into statues that fall over like in Skyrim; i think it just made them ragdoll like they were dead. But now in the remaster it works like Skyrim and I guess there's some issues with that because it crashes a lot.

Some people have said it crashes if you apply paralysis to an enemy that already has paralysis, but in my case it's always been the first trigger that crashes, so I don't think that's true.

Also even if you're not an archer, don't melee goblin shamans (use spells or staffs); they always have a paralysis touch spell and they will use it if you try to melee them, causing a crash.

A week or two ago, I read a really stupid post about the game FTL. Basically, the guy thought that the Rebellion in the game was actually the good side because apparently their oppression of the alien races was a good thing and that the Federation was too weak. This is despite the fact that the Federation was weak because they were getting folded like a lawn chair.

The game does nothing but show evidence that the Rebellion is bad, and yet somehow this guy came to the conclusion that they were the good guys. Really goes to show the lack of media literacy these days

The Rebellion’s existence seems to be more of a negative thing overall, as the numerous alien races seem to be suffering or going into isolation because of it, as well as malicious Rebels using their new position of power for evil, but we really don’t have any real evidence

Yes, but way more interactive than regular turn based. On your turn you can freely aim ranged attacks to hit enemy weak points, which can do different things depending on the enemy. During enemy attack you can dodge and parry them, and if you parry attacks you'll automatically do a kick ass counter attack
