there are like 15 Alonne Knights who run 3x as fast as you (the player)

Two games I've played which had a long lasting impact on me is Ori and the blind forest & will of the wisps. I started listening to the soundtracks to both games again after not playing them for a year now. If you guys like platformers, I would totally recommend playing both of them. Both are magical games. I can honestly say, having played 42 hours....Forever skies feels like a fucking chore more than a game

Grind grind grind to repair, to upgrade, to discover....that you need to grind more

The story so far isn't very compelling. The updates as you progress are few and far between, even more disconnected from your own narrative than Subnautica's plot was in that game.

I keep finding information snippets from people whining about the world, but nothing that actually helps me or makes the story more interesting.

There's no playing the game your way. You'll progress at their rate or get bored trying to survive or stuck trying to progress.

My guess, is consoles will have a permanent “server checksum” toggled on all the time preventing it.

I'm from Poland and through most of my life I used QWERTY. I moved to Belgium and standard here is AZERTY layout
End of backstory time

I got used to it by now but the problem is that most games use QWERTY as default mapping, meaning WSAD for movement, on my keyboard those keys are in different places, ZSQD is what's most convenient in their place. Some games detect your layout and adjust settings, most of games I played do not so I either used a controller for them even if controller isn't the best option (especially if a game involves shooting and aiming) or had to remap controls

In Stalker 2 I had to remap movement, quick use item slots, leaning to sides etc

It just feels nice when I don't have to do that, it's always a W in my book

Both typed using letters I see on my keyboard with setting changed, many letters are in similar places, but many that matter for games are changed, so compered to QWERTY where "M" is supposed to be is ",", the keys with numbers above letters aren't numbers by default, to type "2" I have to press SHIFT, so in games that have numbered slots I don't see slot with small 2 above it, I see a small "é"

I think steam has an option to share key mapping and you can download somebody else and it will override the input, but someone has to make them and share first, you also have to do that for each game, changing some keybinds is just simpler

I think there are apps/programms for mapping, usually meant for games without controller support or for custom/advanced controllers that arent supported

I don't think I have seen an app that reorganises input for all games tho

It was pretty good, I have some things I could complain about but after playing this preview I'm looking forward to when the game releases

From things I didn't like is definitely not being able to detach camera from a character, but I'm pretty sure it will be a common complaint so I expect it to change

Interestingly you don't have a player character here, you don't create one. You get to chose what characters will say in different situations and it will affect relations between character as well as their... personality I guess. Characters have two sides they can lean to, every character has something different. E.g. Ronin vs Samurai, Cold-Hearted vs Warm-Hearted. Not sure as of now how it affects things as preview didn't really show that much

Combat has a cool twist, instead of having initiative and static place in turn order you have Time Units and characters act every X units, you can move enemies and allies around that order with different abilities. Some abilities have a delay in Time Units with stronger effect and can be interrupted.

Setting has Japan in civil war between Shogunate and Emperor backed by foreigners, there is some technology that developed differently then it did in our timeline (not much was shows except there being fire arms) and there is some magic system based in Japanese folk tales and myths

Update on gameplay of Lost Skies. Laggy as hell. Not even predictably laggy. Just laggy at random intervals, even with the settings damn near bottomed out.

Game breaking bugs include crash to main menu, enemies that don't die, frame rate drops that make combat unplayable and....Oh, everything you craft on the ground can disappear never to be found again.

Uninstalling. The game needs to seriously bake more.

It's not even ready for early access in this state.

I think one of problems that preview had was not explaining some things that should be explained

At certain points you can see a stripe going over dialog options which makes me think that there is limited time for decision in those moments, haven't checked what would happen if I ignored it.

Game should have some disclaimer like "Not making a choice is a choice too" or something like that, but maybe that was the goal, you either catch on that or you see what happens

but biggest thing I have gripe with is lack of combat log, you see damage displayed over heads of targets but you can't check details of what happened

Not a big issue since preview is pretty easy and straightforward, but when it releases with higher difficulty option I want to know more about math the game did
