found it in nexus 2 days ago, i like the fact it's much more customizable, if you bring the helmet to a certain cabin, there's a desk with many items which, after an interact, will make your helmet have a different detail, you can repair the glass, or break it, carve the "benny was here" thing on the helmet, or just attach a pack of cigarettes with a belt

I just had an idea for a game....

It's a cross between Dungeons and Dragons with it's roleplaying with stats and skill sheets, and cards against humanity that can actively manipulate the execution of those moves

People get a randomized proposition after each move, like a challenge and a limited number of possible responses that don't always make sense thanks to their being generated by your team's response options submitted as a potential resolution to the challenge. The top voted response wins the hand, allowing that player to reserve the option to roll for a new challenge after each move.

I remember writing a game engine for interactive fiction games. If you don't know what that is, it's text games like zork or the oregon trail. Surprisingly enough, it was actually really really difficult to code because I wasn't actually writing the game, I was writing software so people who don't know how to code could make a game for it. Well the main thing is I lack funds and I don't wanna buy parts without knowing if they will do anything. So first I wanna borrow an amplifier from someone and test to see if the speaker just isn't being driven hard enough first

It's a big speaker and the pi doesn't offer much oomph for that

But I also have zero idea what the speakers impedance etc is

And a lot of what I'm doing is not knowing what I'm doing and learning as I go

So my understanding of the Switch 2 Zelda is that.... it's still base BotW, but you buy the upgrade pack for the enhanced version
Enhanced version isn't comprehensive, it's just that it's the higher definition version. The DLC is still the DLC, but would be enhanced like the rest of the game if you got the Switch 2 edition of base game

I don't think they said anywhere that the Switch 2 edition of any game meant it was also the complete or definitive edition

All that said, it's kinda stupid to have to pay for higher resolution and better rendering

Console PlanetSide 2 is an interesting experience when you play the 4th faction. Most players don't even process your silhouette as a potential enemy so if you orient your body as though you're running with them it just keeps working lol

I think it's just extremely poorly optimized. The only time it's ever ran good for me is the PS4 version on PS5. I've had multiple different generations of high end PCs and none of them could run Planetside 2 well.

And comparing PS2 even in its highly neutered console version to 2142 is pretty apt performance wise. But comparing it to 2042 would be a slap in the face to PS2 lol

So I have been watching a lot of ARMA Reforger lately, considering getting it on console when money is there for it.
But I also had a weird idea and was wondering if it's feasible in the game, and I thought y'all might know.

Generally speaking as I understand it, the limit to your kit is supply, and it's generally considered immoral to take a buncha silly kit out, especially if you're just gonna die about it.

What stops someone from building an armory or whatever you get your kit from at a supply depot where there is effectively unlimited supply, and then ferrying people to said supply depot where they can equip whatever silly stuff they want?

As to your question: Due to the closed nature of the set, actual spoken lines and narrative that can be explained inside of 10 minutes, HD is more cinematic. That is unless you like those odd ball cinemas that do silent films and add captions to everything.

It really depends on the cinema you are going to.

You don't learn the truth of NMS until the end of the journey and even then it's only a truth of convenience, which is slowly being revealed could be a lie the villain tells itself to make sense of dread.

Hey there, rural California resident here. Forest fires threaten me and my livelihood literally every single year here, and we’ve had some remarkably close calls. I totally agree that we need them, but not as a solution to forest fires. The important thing right now (at least here) is more robust forest management. The state can’t afford to go out and log on their own, plus the eco groups scream every time someone cuts a tree down or removes underbrush, but what they can do is have the BLM (Bureau of Land Management, yes, it’s referred to as BLM in this context) allocate lands to logging companies which will remove strategic fire boundaries in forests and protect people from wildfire.

Truthfully, wildfire is a part of the ecosystem and is how many of the trees here spread their seed and propagate, but when a section of forest goes 30-40 years without a burn, the brush makes for AMAZING kindling that starts forest fires like you couldn’t imagine.

In my area, a company called Sierra Pacific has much of the logging rights and is a key player in keeping our forests safe. Alongside them are many independent groups which do something called mastication, where trees and growth within a certain age range is literally ground into what is basically wood chips.

This decomposes, re-enriches the soil and allows growth to come back in 2-3 years, at which point it will have to happen again. A lot of the eco groups hate it because they only see the destruction, but when the industry is kept properly in check, it remains renewable and saves lots of lives

Land management has nothing to do with the role of firewatch. Their job isn't a solution to forest fires. They're an early warning to prevent them from growing.

Land management will not stop forest fires. Fire boundaries do very little to slow their spread. One gust of wind can carry a burning ember half a mile easily. The kind of things land management ends up doing is trying to mitigate the damage in time for water bombers and fire fighters to do their jobs.

This is a problem that wouldn't even arise if proper firewatch were in place, catching fires before they spread to begin with.

I don't disagree that fires can help a forest, but so can trees not burning that just die. There is no benefit to burning down forested regions that can not be gained by not burning down forested regions.
