ED, personally for me, was a massive jump from NMS. it overwhelmed me lol. for me it felt like alot of things were really complicated and had a steep learning curve. but thats about the only Con.
Pros: Graphics and atmoshpere are great. has that deeper darker space vibe. with a more realistic tone also. ship customization i havent gotten into and idk if there even is, however i do know theres multiple ships, and paint iirc. plenty of jobs to do missions to pick up. and now with odyssey having a boots on the ground feel to it is also a thing.
I can reccommend it but i havent really played it much all myself. i must be missing something cuz im always ruynnig out of fuel after accidentally overshooting a landing point etc. ive restarted over 8 times xD

NMS is fantasy casual, ED is simulation. You get more variety as to what you can do with your ship components in comparison to NMS, there are a bunch of various selections for most things, tiers and then further customizing of the ones you install. It's going to be far more grind than NMS due to its sim nature. It also has a fairly steep learning curve with the controls and combat, I'd recommend doing the tutorials.

I wish there was a way to get the democracy officer to shut the hell up. I know what the Illuminate are and what they’re doing, you can stop telling me every 30 seconds
Also, the Breaker Spray’n’Pray is alright against the illuminate. It’s pretty decent at cutting down hordes of Voteless and it can break the armor of Overseers
But if you’re any farther than point blank range, it’s about as effective as a squirt gun

But the story is really interesting. The leader of the terrorist group that perpetrated the nightclub attack (the one that is also a playable level) is being held in the hospital when it is suddenly attacked, resulting in the leader being freed.
It’s really depressing when you explore the hospital too, because the leader had to be held in a pediatric ward because there was no other available space. There are hospital beds crowding the hallways, implying that the patients have to be placed wherever there’s room, purely because of how overcrowded the hospital is

The only decision they’ve made (that hasn’t been reversed or altered) that I really disagree with is them locking some stratagems behind Warbonds, although I can still understand why they did that

if you have the little helper tooltips up in the top right, theyre decently good for learning the basics and giving you a sense of direction for what all you should try to do at the start. such as shelter, warmth, then food, both edible AND Field plots for growing, lastly defence. but not specifically in that order ever time xD

i played ED for a couple of hours (works great on my M1 Pro. Not as great as NMS which is native, but completely playable at decent gfx settings) and i like it a lot.
But i wish someone made a game somewhere between the two
ED planets are mostly dead. which is great. but a rare planet with some nice atmosphere and life would be great too. just not as many as in NMS where there's more live planets than dead
it's dark. space is black. like pitch black. which is great, again, but having a nebula or two would be great as well
grind is great. but again, having it toned down a bit so you could casual it a bit more would be great too 😄

So ceramite seems like it’s used primarily for armor, as it’s a ceramic based material and is very heat resistant. Adamantium is virtually indestructible through conventional means but is incredibly difficult to produce, so it’s usually reserved for Titan armor. Plasteel is basically just plastic but super strong, so it’s used mostly for armor and is combined with ceramite to make Terminator armor.
