Okay. Played about 15 mins of Wild West Dynasty. I like some of the new mechanics - Like learning new constructions requires analyzing items, which is a minigame of literally looking at them from different angles to learn new things about them.
The graphics are still a little choppy, but they are correct in saying it feels like an entirely different game from the EA
The voice acting is still meh but I haven't had a lot of time to really get into it. There are some QOL improvements still needed, like the ability to enter and exit menu options with keypresses instead of requiring mouse input to click out
I appreciate that they throw you into the building part of the game almost immediately, rather than forcing you to go through a ton of exposition

I'm surprised the game isn't already out in EA. If it's even close to how the testbeds have been presented, it is presentable enough to release into EA which would drum up far more hype than a character editor.

Just played a couple hours more of Wild West Dynasty. It functions about as jank as Medieval Dynasty did on launch into early access....and this is their 1.0. They have a lot of work to clean up unoptimized mechanics, poor rendering pipelines and sluggish animations. I don't want to count it out as a product launch, but if I'd known it would be like this on launch - I would not have purchased it.
Hopefully this gets cleaned up significantly. The game is a great improvement on what it was in Early Access, but it's no where near a solid gameplay experience.

The English translations the devs used for that and the Ranni ending fucked them up, iirc the literal Japanese-to-English translation for the death ending more or less says everyone will turn into ashen mfers from Dark Souls 3 (you play as one in the game) after they die and undead won't be treated as monsters anymore because all life becomes undeath

You use them to level up your Scadutree Blessing, which gives you damage resistance against enemies and lets you deal more damage to them. If you don't level up your Blessing everything will two shot or one shot you, no matter how high your level and stats are. It's the stupidest shit ever, but if you really want to chase them all down yourself (good luck, some of them are in ridiculous places or dropped by a certain enemy type) you can 😆

I played Monster Hunter Rise for a few hours. I did not enjoy it.
World is a lot more immersive than rise, but the gameplay loop is otherwise the same. Go hunt monsters, make weapons from said monsters to fight even stronger ones, rinse and repeat. Combat is super fluid and addictive, and the more you play, the more rewarding it is
Like something that happens in world that doesn’t in rise, is that monsters will actually fight each other, and interact with the environment
Like there can be landslides, monsters can create terrain that can alter how fights pan out, and there’s tons of beautiful sights and views in world that I personally don’t think you can get even close out of rise
Not to mention the cinematic cutscenes are kinda fuckin epic ngl
Oh yea, and the farther you get into the game, the cooler monsters you fight

How's the game? I've heard it's pretty fun
It's a fantastic game if you've never played Jedi: Fallen Order or Jedi: Survivor.
Otherwise, it's the third installment of that series, except this time you're ranged instead of melee and the Force powers are condensed into the form of a furry/scaly sidekick (who is undeniably charming and if anything happens to it, the world will know because France will suddenly cease to exist). It's alright, but not a lot of action and a lot of backtracking and a lot of climbing on ledges.
8.5/10 if you've never played any of Massive's SW games, 7/10 if you have. If the formula works, give it to the consumer until they're sick of it, but I miss risk-taking in gamemaking AND storytelling.
