The problem with modern journalism and specifically gaming journalism, is it exists in an echo chamber and does not like it when outside viewpoints or perspectives are presented to the "inner circle". It's been that way since the late 2000's, but it's gotten REALLY bad in the past 10 or so years.

When I was a kid, we challenged each other's viewpoints and profited off of it morally and conscientiously. It seems that's no longer valued in media, and I'm not that old.

Yesterday I found out with prisma warlock, with getaway artists, that turn your arc nade into an arc soul, also works with the stasis aspect, when you consume your nade you get a stasis turret. So one grenade consume I get both turrets up at once. I thought it’d be one or the other. And with how fast my nades charge back, I can have like 4 stasis turrets up at once plus my arc one 😂😂

I’m always ALWAYS at 1180-1193 out of the 1200. 2 power armor sets, like 5 guns, and the rest is all junk (raw materials broken down) and the “misc” stuff you keep too then just food/meds. Like the ore’s. It’s just not fun even playing when I feel like I have to just drop everything. Players don’t buy shit fast enough and vendors have cap limits of only 1200 caps… per DAY. In game iirc. But still.

Actually, the situation is pretty ironic, because if the mod were released on Nexus it wouldn't require users to verify that they own the game in order to install it, but on GOG it does.

So GOG is basically DRM in this case.

Your gold earning is nerfed, you can't get any faction above level 40(?) which means you can't get three to 50 for Pirate Legend, you can't use Captained ships (ships with names that are more customizable and let you sell all your loot to one vendor to make your life easier), and I don't think you can do the cool Athena voyages even if you're already Pirate Legend

It's bullshit, and unfortunately the game is selling insanely well on PS rn so I doubt they'll change it

On a contract farm in Egg Inc (temporary timed event farm to earn X items within several days) I currently can practically full carry contracts on my own whenst in group, but usually another farmer pushes us past finish

Elden Ring kinda feels like it's full of bullshit for bullshit's sake, no matter how sloppy it makes some parts of the game play. DS3 felt like every bit of it was cooked to perfection

Well PCVR is always better but I own a ps5 so I got it on that. Pretty good besides the frame dropping and my own current issue of an extremely short battery life due to the constant vibrations, on those heavy planets. it suffers from heavy framedrops.

Try out more weapons. Go to the training area and beat the crap outta the barrels until you find something you like.

A huge part of monster hunter is finding your style of hunting.

Also, play with friends, that game is fan friggin tastic with friends.

There are a LOT of mechanics in MH

There are flashpods to stop them from running for example

It blinds them and if they're flying, it'll drop them like a rock

It is rather slow, but you're meant to consistently upgrade your gear as you go with the smithy

The first hunt will take 20 minutes, then 15, then 10, then 6.

The joy of MH is improving in both stats and skill

Yeah. The first time you fight a monster will take a while, but you will return to fight them again and they won't stand a chance.

The progression is extremely natural and organic

Most of them are not paid. There are some you can buy through DLCs, but there is a transmog where you can pick any armor set you like to wear.

I'm getting rise for steam as I got the initial release on switch a while back

I recommend you try out base world and then decide if you want iceborne for MHW

Iceborne will give you a defender set which will make the base game really easy if you just use that
