I just got a horrible idea for Space Engineers. A self sustaining AI factory capable of reproducing and constructing defense and mining drones

Not only would that be a titanic pain in the ass, but it’d be really funny to build in a public server

I can already see a hundred different problems with it, but it’s still a funny idea that I want to try

The logistics are going to be hell, but man do I really want to do this

It would need to not only construct its own defense drones, it would need to be able to construct either A: large mining carriers capable of going long ranges when the local resources run out or B: it needs to move on its own

Then it needs to be able to cannibalize wrecks or damaged drones, and replace destroyed drones

Then it needs to construct its own repair drones and keep those stocked

Not to mention construction of independent combat fleets which should have those capabilities

And it also needs to be capable of diplomacy, because some resources would require other players to get a reliable amount of

Train up a army of, oh, maybe 500 power

Early game planetary defense armies won’t have more than that

Unlike normal fleets, armies don’t need to be repaired or anything, if the army isn’t entirely lost then it will passively regen

did they recently change the enemy scaling to always be the level youre currently at? watched a few loot/ammo route vids and they were saying some areas where enemies are still like lvl 4, or 10, but everytime i go anywhere shits MY level with me

I think the highest I've seen an enemy that wasn't legendary was like....80

but now I regularly see level 100+ in events because they're 1 stars

I was expecting them to request being a protectorate, which wouldn’t be great, since you’d have to get involved in all their wars with little to no reward, but no, it’s just a normal vassal
