Thing about helldivers 2....It's a guaranteed loss. The devs would've had to up the difficulty overall just to balance it against the massive player base and to compensate for what is bound to happen as the gameplay loop gets played out (population deflation), if they don't lower the difficulty sliders they're going to nuke the capacity of the existing playerbase to manage the war.

Unless and until they introduce some sort of recursive loop for gameplay win/loss ratios that reassesses the war against the existing player population in real time, the game will never have true balance and every win and/or loss will just be a matric in a narrative they've already got planned out. I'm not against the metric system, but I'm not sure how many people are going to care about doing any particular mission if they know it really doesn't matter what they do - and the developers would be forced to either remove content or reward lesser desired missions with more desired results - or simply run the risk of running a grind fest (which already exists).

People be grindin defense missions as the meta now.

I like the game. It's fun. I would like an option to play out more involved scenarios though with less chaos...like a cross between helldivers theme with warframe instanced missions

I don't think it'll be an issue really. They can balance difficulty in real time but they're not too hands on with it. Of course there's a general narrative but they've gone really in depth on how they've planned stuff. I think the major thing they need to do is to up the rewards for major orders. I think the thing that you're missing is that there's one guy in charge of the system and that adds an inherent imbalance to the system. Some things will be easier than others and that's not necessarily fully intentional, and I think that in itself is intentional. The devs have already spoken pretty fondly about how they had to think of something to give the players following the quick completion of the first major order

They too are really into the system and in the last game it worked out well. They've even set up the whole game in a way that enables them to add events to the galactic war on the fly

I think there is a balance to be had but the trick is that they've not pre written the exact flow of what will happen, and the on the fly nature does introduce a varience there. I think, if done right, it will add a level of unpredictability for both us and the devs

Sometimes you have to see things play out for months to gather analytics if there is actually any need for balance.

I could already see similar behaviour from players who go into eradicate missions to sabotage things for farmers or leaving liability players dead till the end of the mission and only reinforcing when the Pelican turns up.

I personally used to do this in the first too.
I have 887 accidentals which mostly aren't accidental.

Which part you struggling with? For me the worst part was the weight distribution .. It was always front heavy, but using too much weight blocks backfired too .. That's why i had to put on the extra flap wings, it's kinda stabilises it, but i lose like 20-30km/h 😅
