It's not clunky, the moment is at least as good as Dark Souls 3. Even better once you've gotten far enough into the game to unlock the harpoon arm upgrade that lets you do a cool aerial attack on enemies. It's just that dodging is pointless because it has the most incredibly unforgiving i-frames I've ever seen and the parrying is damn near impossible because the window is miniscule

I hired a captain for my ship (started a new game). The default orders are to hold position, and when I go in the map and right-click anything, there's no 'fly to/dock with' options. Help appreciated.

Station's in Grand Exchange 1, I'm in IV.

If I sit on the seat and use auto-pilot, it gets me there, but if I have a captain, there's no orders to give. The menu doesn't even have options.

And yes, I removed all orders from my ship.

Left click the ship you wish to command (either on map or in the map's menus, there's a list of owned ships somewhere), then right-click the destination and select the desired order from the drop-down menu

That's the way to use autopilot 99% of the time, since destinations will usually be beyond visual range/in other systems

The auto-docking software just makes the landing easier (clamps the landing sequence from further away), you still gotta fly to the pad yourself

Flying near stations, some will offer missions - you can also get missions by talking to npcs onboard stations (those tend to have a bit better payout at the cost of spending time to leave your ship)
