It's possible the area you're in doesn't have much there, you could try a different sector via jump gates/accelerators

Stations tend to stay along a 2D plane and usually aren't very far "above" or "below" the drop-in points

There's also these conveyor belt things running through the area with the larger pads (they let you run faster if you're moving in the same direction as the belt is moving)

on either side of them are elevators that actually move you up and down between the upper and lower hangar

OK, so I landed on another Argon Federation ship...is it just a prop, or can it be bought/traded/recruited?

(Large ship, probably, since it can land a medium ship and a small one together)

No ships in X4 are props, they are all going about their business for their respective factions - they have real cargo being taken to stations for production etc.

They cannot be recruited though, you have to buy a ship at a shipyard/wharf and you can recruit crew during the buying process

You can also build your own ships for free if you have the infrastructure for making them

You can hire crew from a wharf/shipyard in the equipment menu, too

They offer repairs too iirc

You can mix and match ships with different faction modules if you like

Some factions are better at certain things than others

For example, Teladi makes some chunky shields but their engines are awful

I love that I took one online drawing class in high school I think, I hated it. I just don’t like learning art at someone else’s pace and getting a grade on it. I’m still figuring out what’s right for me, but I much prefer teaching myself and using online resources (that don’t cost an arm and a leg).
I totally get it though. I always want to try a new art medium but for example chalk was the worst sensory experience for me 😂 and I’m a tad impatient and don’t let my watercolors dry and end up mucking it up

I’m definitely a huge fantasy nerd, but sci fi art is sooo gorgeous too. I really want to try learning drawing robotics and cityscapes and that sort of thing, inorganic as opposed to my usual animal sketches we’ll see though. It’s a lifelong process
