I took the excess time dumped into endgame with ER to finetune a build. I found the PvP elements lacking so settled in more of a hybrid PvE/PvP centric build that can play around invaders without gearing all my spells for it.

I don't think it can soak as much time up as NMS though

Yep! They don't point it out, but there's three shots from totally different biomes, with the same planet name in the bottom left

And you can see stuff like mountain ranges and icecaps on the planet map

Resource distribution varies across the planet top

So certain regions will spawn more iron, uranium etc

Honestly a lot of the planetary tech seems to fulfil what a lot of people have on their NMS wishlist

If the biome types are high, then I see diversity being much better with different combinations, but if biomes are less, this would make planet to planet exploration less incentivized

It's a pool of handcrafted areas (I assume with a little variation so it can suit the planet)

It's just so naturally expandable

There's gonna be people making tonnes of caves, research outposts, etc for you to find

You find an outpost with friendly people, they can ask you to do (X) basic task, and it'll send you to another POI to do that
