The quests were basically the same, idk i got a hundred hours out of it but in a while it got alittle boring. But then i found mods.

Par for the course with any game, you spend over a hundred hours doing fetch quests, things are gonna get boring

And that's the case with Skyrim, most quests are fetch quests or kill quests

The problem is that the fetch quests are tho only quests and they are basically all the same, sometimes with stories, but they usualy are not very interesting

I absolutely adore TES 3-5. I played Skyrim first so it’s the nearest and dearest to me, but all are hella fun and have incredible story and lore that I deeply enjoy. I also only played FO4 of the fallout series and gotten plenty of crap for it. There for sure are instances of bad writing, but imo every game is unique enough you can’t really compare them. I laugh at silly bugs and the deadpan faces, but: I’m still playing vanilla Skyrim, after thousands of hours on different platforms. Countless radiant quests and doing the same storylines, and I’m still having fun. That’s what matters to me and that’s what I hope to get out of Starfield

I tried Oblivion and couldn't really get into it, not sure why tbh. I might've gotten bored or felt like there was no direction. Skyrim stuck tho, but I also played that before I tried Oblivion.
Morrowind is its own technical hurdle to try and play nowadays.
Fallout I did play some of 3 but the combat never felt right, same with the constant green atmosphere. Fallout 4 was a lot better, and settlement building is best

Starfield is doing a lot of what I want, but if I'm being honest I want more than just humans being there.

Sure are a lot of human and no other sapient alien species

Tbh I ignored Oblivions plot most of the time and I just spent hours n hours stealing n reselling items. Occasionally I'd do some dark brotherhood stuff.

I adore the entire Fallout universe. Skyrim and Oblivion are definitely my fav Elderscrolls games.

I totally get all of that. I kept trying Oblivion and Morrowind for like, half an hour at a time before moving onto something else, but something changed a couple years ago and I started playing Oblivion a tonnn. Morrowind is one of the first games on my backlog to do a proper playthrough of, as I’ve played it the least. It was incredible for its time but coming back to it today I definitely see why it’s not easy to get into. And Fallout 4 <33 I’m constantly told the older ones are better and kind of in that same boat, turned away from trying them because I don’t want to be disappointed and waste the time I have. I’m happy sticking with what I know I love for now.

I have a feeling you don't go down to orbit but load into a landing scene, land on the ground at some identified region from space and "explore" on foot...then when you go back to your ship it goes straight back up into space.
