Yeah eyes on TDU too, not sure about their physics system but am willing to give it a try. Racing game, especially in pvP is fortunately always a small time investment. 15 to 60 minutes of adrenaline high and pure joy. No bullshit.

I skipped all NFS after that, then cameback to Unbound because itwas something different with the burst NOS

HP2010 online is unrivaled if you ask me, when it was still active we had 4x racers and 4x coppers. The interplay was amazing

Here's an idea...you're drifting, but drifting needs speed, right?

Use the 3 or 6 LB N2O tank and install the upgrade that recharges N2O using drifts.

Use those small, but powerful N2O boosts (the ones that empty the whole tank, not the over-time ones) to get speed.

Basically and summarizing: Small bugs. Nothing game breaking. Probably will be fixed in a day 1 patch. Gameplay is repetitive, combat gets old despite itself. Weapon modding is barely worth it. Story is shallow but has hilarious characters to round the straight cut. Seems to be really selling the MP in reviews as great.

Lag is an issue, but it seemed less pronounced in the reviews I saw.

It’s been a while since a decent racing game came out, kinda excited for solar crown

I just mostly play forza horizon 5, forza horizon will always be a master class but they haven’t been very good at picking their maps lately

And a lot of the soul of the first 2 games has been sucked out in favour of quantity over quality

I just want them to have a map in an asian nation, any one will do, sick of exploring places that have been done to death in other racing games, why I’m so excited for solar crown and Hong kong

Modern cars are specifically designed to crumple the way cars do in beam, older cars were tougher but then something about it’s safer for the passenger if the car absorbs all the force

It seems exaggerated but I think it’s a lot to do with the game doesn’t really portray high speeds the way other games do, it’s easy to get moving pretty fast without noticing it and then when you make a mistake and clip a wall, you think you weren’t going that fast but then you realize you plowed into the side of that wall at 30 mph

Fine, so here's an idea. Since I'm familiar with Intel, I'll use that as a base-line. Let's say a game comes out in 2023, right? The current lowest-end CPUs from Intel (in the Core series) are the i3s...12100 and above.

How about...the developer optimize the game to run on current generation lowest-end?

It might not work on a decade-old hardware, but it should reliably work at 60 FPS on the lowest settings at the lowest end on current generation.

Is that too much to ask for?

they have baseline hardware though, was his point, furthermore current gen gpu's are like the RTX 3060 at minimum, so if anything they partially optimize for past hardware too because i can run a lot of current games just fine on my 2060

Can't build a PC with same hardware as PS5 or Series X for the same price they sell at.

Console is set hardware for X number of years, developers can get real good at working with that hardware that doesn't change.

nah, games have system requirements for a reason, you cant expect a game with a ton of features to run on a potato thats just simply not how it works and its certainly completely unreasonable to expect developers to be able to optimize their games to that degree

if you want better performance expect games to get simpler

Series X and PS5 are already using Direct Storage which skips the CPU when loading/streaming textures.
GPU loads straight from SSD.
That's barely available on PC right now, Windows 11 only.

DirectStorage has made loading screens and pop in basically disappear.

I'll be honest...the best example is of Stellaris. That game consumes CPU cycles like nothing, but it runs on low-end hardware. It's not smooth, it's not fast, but it runs.

And that's what I want...for it to run.

but expecting game developers to optimize their games for lower end hardware at the expense of their vision is unreasonable
