i like it because of the amount of freedom it gives you, and what you can do to other people

i would equate it to like GTA but in space

or escape from tarkov but in space

i like the way theres actual risk and reward in the gameplay

you can lose everything short of your ship which is of course insured

but even then, youre just claiming a new vessel

you can steal npc ships

steal other peoples ships

raid places and kill whoevers there and i really love the fps combat

because of how punishing it is

take a few bullets and thats it, youre dead

this one time some guy was calling for help because some npc's took him out and he needed someone to come give him food and medical supplies

i accepted his request for help, i brought my friend with me, and then we made him walk to our position

and i dropped the med supplies and food on the ground so he had to chase for it

then shot him in the back, took his ship and all his loot

he was so angry

we loaded up all that stuff, and took it back to space station

he had like 5 railguns, a buncha small arms

it took them 3 hours to successfully kill me

i kept running and committing missions in between

and of course i took his ship

i like the way the inventory and looting system is on that game too, everything can be lost, and you have to physically store your stuff in various locations and all the inventories are persistent

its also super cool not everything can be obtained by buying it

you actually have lots of reasons to go out into the world and look for stuff

i hope that they expand on that

and have it not just be ground weapons and armor sets

but ship weapons too

and devices

you know you raid a bunker

and you get some uber powerful shield for your ship that only lasts till you next die or something

same for starship weapons

i thought it was an interceptor, not a racing ship

actually its not even a racing ship, its a fucking luxury ship

i shoulda got the consolidated outland mustang

has a physical cargo bay and an inventory, and its actually decent in combat with the right setup

but no, i chose the rolls royce paperweight of ships

my preferred ship is the hornet f7c, i always grind for one when i am starting out

in a 5 panther setup i find it to be a great endurance fighter

its agile, it can take a lot of punishment

and in the 5 panther setup its got powerful weapons that never run out of ammo

and also its a 2 seater

so if i ever team up with someone i can take em along

What you perceive as a god roll is based on what activities you mainly play, I play pvp so my god rolls are perks that have a major impact on the weapons handling and extra damage perks that proc easily and on single targets because all the pve fluff perks don’t help you or don’t proc in pvp

If you don’t play pvp I don’t see why you wouldn’t just scrap the autumn wind when you found it, there is no good pve perks for it imo, which is to be expected it is a crucible weapon after all

I was beta testing New Dawn. I don't know about reviews. I found the game good. It lacked when I was playing it in the motivation department, but most survival games do..They're a specific kind of genre that have difficulty getting over the hump of justifying survival

It's funny given how much I enjoy NMS, I'd find a game like Osiris to lack purposeful motivation to continue.

I think it's just the lack of contextual reasoning that would otherwise be teased in narrative

It means you get standing with them passively for gaining affinity

but you might also lose standing with other syndicates that are opposed to the one of you've pledged to

just make sure not to lose too much standing with either lol

you can change pledge anytime
