Also apparently most of the towns have the same layout just flipped into different directions

And the game was originally meant to be pvp only but they rushed a pve mechanic right before released.

Again, take this with a grain of salt because I'm going by what Joshstrifehayes said. I don't know anything about the game personally it's just a secondary source.

Steve Jackson's Sorcery is a gamebook and not an MMO, there are 4 books in total and they're pretty good. You have to transfer your cloud save over to the next book with a save spell and your actions from the previous gamebook effects your actions in the next one which is pretty neat.
