But no one's forced to buy cards in the first place. You can game on iGPUs, computers run completely fine on iGPUs and industrial use will find its own way. People are willing to pay scalper prices, people actually think that $1000 is a valid price for a GPU instead of pay as less as possible and learning to live without it if their price isn't matched.
People laugh at me when I say that everything should be $10...most often comes up in GPU prices. But I don't buy a GPU. Will GPUs ever get down to $10? Not likely. Am I forced to buy one? No. Does that impact my game performance? Yes. Can I live with it? If I can't, that's on me. I can't blame scalpers for pushing the price to ridiculous levels; I just don't buy them, so I'm not affected. And unless, as a buyer, the price goes down to my desired point, I will never fund the industry. It's not that difficult.
