You know the primary lore of Skyrim is based on a major attempt by Bethesda to retcon Kirkbrides work?

Because a lot of the shit in Elder Scrolls is now just broken canon, after he left rather than try and continue down his loose lore structure, they consolidated what they could and created a narrative to basically start a new time-line where their new lores moving forward could be used instead. A branching narrative of two entirely different histories - just to avoid having to follow his ideas as canon.

Don't be surprised if Elder Scrolls Six is all about a new time-line of events that deviate sharply from any preconceived notions born in kirkbrides stories. Any way to wean themselves off his narrative tit
