FOOD_P_POOP is wild yeast - and iirc, it's PLANT_POOP (faecium) that refines to FOOD_P_POOP; that is created in RECIPE_26
so, according to RECIPE_1, wild yeast processes into wild yeast?

i (i mean we, i've been getting help while doing this) managed to get food to go in the quick recharge menu (i did have to modify ChargeValue)
is there a way to add entries to quick menu itself, like we've got recharge, emotes, utilities, etc?
i would like to have one that is just to eat food; like, allow me to consume food from a quick menu entry, instead of having to open inventory. that list would be populated with the items i have on my inventories.
or instead of that, allow quick menu recharge entries to be consumed, instead of used to recharge?
because consume reads REWARDTABLE, but recharge doesn't

Does anyone know why support frigates in the save game have greater fuel reduction numbers than what their traits all add up to?
I have a support Frigate with [Generator Grid (-9), Portable Fuel Ignitor (-9), Oversized Fuel Scoop (-6), Retrofitted Turrets (+3 Combat)] which should give me a fuel reduction of 15 + 9 + 9 + 6 = 39. But in the save game, the fuel reduction is 43.
I got another support ship that comes with a (+3 Exploration, +1 Trading, -6 Fuel, -6 Fuel) but the stats in the save game show 28 instead of 15 + 6 + 6 = 27.
Where are these bonuses coming from? Are they inherent to Support ships as a secret stat?

Hey all does the date / time method work anymore for the expeditions? I tried setting mine to Dec 2nd for example and it just do the 2nd one. So I did the offline mode, etc. Now I get the whole in 2 weeks or maybe was 2 weeks ago haha. Not sure if there is any other method to trick it. Not doing it for the loot doing it to play through it
In case anyone was curious, I can confirm that support ships just inherently have a hidden -0 to -5 (maximum I found) fuel reduction. They just do.
I'm not complaining. Extra fuel reduction boosts are always nice. It is like a miniscule amount anyway.

@untold hazel dragging it over because it may be least-offtopic here ... HG would have the data in their discoveries database. you can probably even get very nice plots without figuring out where in a region the systems are, and just going by "how many systems per region are discovered". (location of the regions is straightforward since they are just coordinates to begin with)
bonus would be having (even coarse, like year or month) timestamps for the discoveries.
could render some pretty pictctures / models with that.
@eiko now i see why it interests you...it would provide a whole new dimension of gameplay with very little effort. Perhaps suggest it to the devs. I took a similar initiative with Star Citizen devs regarding piracy mechanics and they implemented some of my ideas. (I own and operate the piracy brotherhood gang and discord channel ... tpbl)
i wouldnt even be aiming for an integration back into NMS in any way, just pretty pictures in a "history of the traveller expansion" direction.

As a proud new father of a very ugly LS, (and as well as the commander of a fully maxed out cap ship with zero bulkhead expansions available) . . . is there a mod for augmentation expansion slots on LS's?
there is a way to increase LS slots with a glitch
isn't too tedious, just need storage augs and a friend

I'm doing the exploit where you install stuff and see what's good, then reload and keep track of the order, install cheap stuff and the one you want in the same order.
What I'd like to share is that I've noticed, the same seed often produces good modules regardless of the one used. I suppose this isn't surprisingly, and people who've looked at the numbers if even possible might not be surprised either. But I thought it was neat :3
Like I've got a banger Movement Module in the 10th seed slot. 10th slot also produces a near perfect Pulse module.

Living Ships don't have legit available expansion slots beyond the default amount. Definitely something HG ought to fix sooner than later. No motivation beyond "hey that's a cool breathing fuselage."

Hi from UK here. I am not clued on modding in this game whatsoever. Is it possible to make a mod like Player Is The Spaceship? Where the player is just casually jetpacking through space. Obviously this is just a visual switch, but unsure if this fits into modding as doable or not.
You can easily mod things to get infinite and powerful jetpacks and immunity to space hazards, but it wouldn't be nearly as fast as a ship and you wouldn't be able to have space encounters, warp, enter stations or freighters, etc.
As for replacing the ship model with the player character, I don't think anyone has tried that.
The second bit was more inline with what I meant with my question :) I realise this would potentially just be something only you could see yourself on multiplayer. I just thought it would be pretty funny doing warp speed. Also jetpack hyperdrive lol :)

I've tried putting the player model into cars and it's not possible
Because the customization data makes the model simply invisible
Unless we can somehow gut the player model from the customization station in a way that keeps the model visible

If I had it customized I'd make exotics a lot more common, but that's only compared to their current rarity. 1% instead of .3%
Yeah, tbh removing shuttles entirely would make me happy lol. Thought about lessening their chances but then it just means it's even more annoying when they clog up the spawn pool.
Constantly I'm ship hunting and 5 shuttles come first wave at an outpost. It's a waste of time.

I was looking for one that added stuff you see through the visor to the exocraft's 'c' scan. Like buried tech, fossils, salvageable tech. It's silly to have to exit the exocraft to look for it when it has three heckin scanner upgrade modules.

I see them every 4-5 waves. Which, personally, I don't mind. I'm late game so it's nbd. but yeah at 10 it pretty much normalizes their presence. maybe 5 would be better.

no worries. and hey them being a mildly common sight might be a selling point. But, I think what made me decide this was too often is that when I hear their special sfx for landing, I started to ignore it, rather than get excited :c

You could always change the weighting to be a sum of 100, so you always get a percentage. Might be easier for you to predict that way

I fixed it. Do you happen to use my "tractor beam" mod?
Also, if you happen to use my ship headlights mod, I'm going to have a host of ship fixes in it in the next release. I fixed several wing locations on shuttles, made thruster trails go straight back instead of down at a 45 deg angle, fixed locations of several engine glows, engine flames, and trails. Also will include the canopy fix above in the headlights mod.

Tractor beam doesn't currently.
I'm going to include the fix in the next tractor beam release. If you don't use tractor beam then I can make a standalone mod that just fixes the entering ships.
If you use tractor beam then I'll just work instead on getting the release out for that.

yes. it changes the auto entering distance in stations and freighters and slows down the entry/exit

further down the rabbit hole...I found a fighter that has broken model on a wing set that makes it look like the texture is not rendering right on the left wing....but it's actually the model. I'm trying to fix it now. Will post pics if I fix it.

I felt like I was seeing too many different explorer types in a vy'keen system, so I turned the mod off.
I've now seen two different explorers, and fighters I hadn't seen yet. I'd been camping here quite awhile so, I don't think it's luck.

We changed shuttle spawn weight to 1, exotics to 3, and alien to 1.
I didn't expect it would affect the amount of each type that can spawn or what gets spawned, just negate shuttles.

to see the path, you can add a base comp, then add a save beacon directly above it (say, by using some walls and a floor panel)
the editor will let you exchange the positions of the two objects.
note the base coords in json before and after the move. then you understand how the coords change when moved by that much. and just scale those numbers out however many u you want.
i've not played with low orbit bases, so someone else can comment on the safe max distance, but that'd be my path. someone else might have a better idea.
(to be clear, once you see that pattern of how the base coords change you can manually change them to get the altitude you want)
I just added 900 to the Y coordinate of the BC in the past, but that's sloppy, doesn't go straight up, and things might have changed since
1000u above terrain level is where things stop rendering, so stay safely under that
