They always cap eventually, regardless of seed
The save will have a max list of 48 structures, of which only 41 are being used. This means there might be room to mod in a few more, but cap at 41 in vanilla for all I know.

There's no separation of modded and unmodded
and in no way will that ruin or currupt my safe? i only want the rewards i've missed from previous expeditions
Modding anything has a chance at corrupting data, just make a backup before you mod the data.
Then you have a save of before you modded and one after, just in case it gets corrupted after you mod it

No it's just a boolean switch for whether they can be deleted, but otherwise they are normal tech

For some reason warp mods that are supposed to be visual-only seem to break very easily and induce crashes often. I honestly recommend that you just look away if it bothers you.

Sorry if I sound impolite, I don't always travel with my starship when I'm on a planet. I like to save before entering a compound incase I make a mistake with a console. So even tho that option is available, it doesn't fit my playstyle, hence why i asked if there was such a mod. But I can continue my search elsewhere. Thanks

Thank you, tbh I just like the idea of hitting those little beacons for the completion aspect, I do believe it also provides a reward of some kind, so skipping the visual is the main thing. It's not difficult to carry a save beacon either. In fact I do!

fwiw, vanilla freighter model is a max size venator
I have no idea how it compares, but it feels quite a bit bigger
freighters have a entity component that scales it up visually at distance
so you can only see its true size up close, normally within a few km

You've got a conflict with another mod. What else do you have installed?
They won't conflict with gShip Custom or the summoner, but they will conflict with each other. That's a different issue, though. Must be something else

nah, i don't think screen filters and post effects are what causes bad performance on heavy storms
also, that mod only removes the visor overlay effect during storms for better visibility during storms

are the new base parts more performance friendly than legacy ones? There seems to be a lot more geometry in the legacy wood pieces than frontiers ones for example
Frontiers pieces don't have that much depth. Just a flat surface with some hi-res texture on it

but even without looking at the models the new parts are definitely more performance friendly, they optimized them further with subsequent patches since the main 3.6 update

@round sinew I’ve gone down the rabbit hole. Without explaining a whole mess of stuff, lemme just say messing with weird biomes is stupid cuz they are all built differently and use assets multiple times for things like animals and collectibles (that I don’t want to change). This is causing me to have to invent a system for working around this. Many many new files created. I think I may have a way of circumventing the current system on some things. It’s like a riddle wrapped in a riddle.
ok, i'll get this out of the way: my laptop (currently in repair, hopefully getting back soon) is barely capable of running nms at above 30fps. does anyone know any good performance enhancing mods or techniques? i've already changed the number of logical cores it can use, it didn't help much. i'm mainly looking for something to optimize the graphics, as i have an igpu.

Also I had a plumbing disaster for 24 hours. I’ll post some pics as soon as I make some decent progress and go cry in a corner about how many files this is going to take. Lol j/k I’m just tired. Thought I’d let you know where I was at.
I’ve run across about every problem that assets can give you in these weird biomes. It’s like when they made them they just scrapped some stuff together as quick as possible with no regard to the systems that they use everywhere else in the game.

Right now I'm too busy to really explain it. It changes some grass size settings (small changes), LOD distances, thickness, etc. I get about 5-20 fps from it depending on the situation.

No, but I try to get 30 fps. I actually prefer 30 fps because I feel more "comfortable" with it (old school gamer....more makes me feel weird...even a TV that is fast makes me feel sick). Also helps with keeping things cool. My rig couldn't push 60 fps anyway unless I turned everything waaaay down.

If you didn't see a preview pic of something proc colored or a particular biome, it's either it already has proc colored stuff or the stuff that I tried to proc color can't be done for a WIDE variety of technical impossibilities that HG threw in the bucket.

All you have to do is copy them to a folder. Then remove them from the folder to remove them.

for instance
if you have an open x - photon cannon
open the editor and right click for details or double click
there is a changeable number there.
if you change the number by even 1. the photon module changes stats.

x-class hazard prot mods help, a lot actually, so i need to recharge less and less as i get better rolls on them

If you mean a version of one with specific parts from the game, no, that's handled with seeds and you would do better to try to use the brute force bot at NMS Creative & Sharing Hub Discord. If you mean a custom ship, yes, there are two mods that do that already.

I know there's save points and auto-saving when leaving ships that'll create a savegame.
but I often spend a good few hours building away without entering a ship, and I tend to forget to use save points for manual saves.
so an auto-save mod would be a great solution for me if I get stuck in a wall again or something
gSave mod will do that, but it has a side effect where you can't see multiplayer names

Download it to a location of preference, extract the .zip. Make sure you have the requirements installed (Java 8 64-bit). Run it with the NMSSaveEditor.bat, and select the Account tab at the top right. You can check any rewards you wish to have. Read the note when it comes to claiming Twitch rewards
You might want to make a backup yourself as account data is not backed up for you, although backups are being made when editing saves.

It must have enabled invalid slots if expanding inventory is all you did. Or there is something not working correctly with saving for PS4. I can not confirm nor deny you doing anything correct/wrong, as I do not own a PS4. Just trying to help as well I can.
I think it is best to revert and try a single section first to see if that works at least. Go from there and if the issue persists, you may just wish to report the issue to the GitHub, explaining in detail what you are trying to do and what goes wrong

Awww, sounds like saving for PS4 is not working in general. Looking at the Command window, it does not appear to include any useful info either. Do however make sure to include the log file from the install location, when reporting the issue

Download NMSSE, unpack the .zip to a location you prefer, unpack, then make sure you have Java 8 64-bit installed and run the .bat file
The Save Editor should open up and automatically tried to find your saves location.

There is a tab to edit the 'AccountData' with a full list of rewards you can check/uncheck, including those for Expeditions, as well as Twitch. Check as you wish, make sure to read the Note

As said, read the note when it comes to Twitch rewards, as they get checked with the server unless you disconnect internet before starting the game
Expedition rewards however should just work out of the box

The cam settings are good IMO of course. Especially if you want to use exocraft in first person. Vanilla will almost make me sick.
Exo craft cams are terrible vanilla

I'm kinda proud of the submarine camera especially cuz I had to use a bunch of settings to literally break how some stuff works, so I could tweak that/those cameras to work well and keep the sub level if not trying to dive or surface.

Really, I do like the idea a lot. I don't think it would be possible though...except with some serious code injection into the exe or some kind of script hook for the exe. Slightly above my pay grade lol. And is like some really big hours work. Don't really have that kind of time to devote to NMS. Seriously though, it a cool idea and I'll keep it in mind when looking through stuff for possibilities.

Yeah, as a programming type thing, it's not hard to make happen at all. The thing is, NMS has certain things exposed to modding. And as far as I know, there is no existing function in NMS that does this in some way that could be hijacked to make a tractor beam illusion. I'm pretty sure it would require adding a bunch of code to the exe in a few possible ways but lol that's a day job...and in no way any normal modding for NMS. Anything can happen if you're dumb enough to do it though....so there's that lol

Just select the HelloGames or NMS folder, copy that, so it has everything inside. Then make another folder in a location you can easily find again, name it NMS backup or something and open to then 'paste' what you copied inside

my game glitched, how do I use the save editor to advance a quest forwards
it wants me to make the bioreactor thing and I did but it didnt advance
I had this problem with the wires a while back and I was able to advance the quest with the editor
I would first make sure you place the Biofuel Reactor, and hook up a low level power device with wire (teleporter would make sense at this stage), then add fuel by interacting with the Biofuel Reactor. Mission would normally advance once power is created and used.
