Unless you haven't saved in game at all in single player after editing the save, I wouldn't say it's the fault of save editing or the save editor

you download the pak file, go to your game's folder, inside the PCBANKS folder you create one called MODS
put the consumerism pak inside it
inside the PCBANKS folder you will see a file called DISABLEMODS.txt
delete it too

New here but I modded the game and now none of my ships work. They appear damaged and can't launch off the ground. I've tested all the mods to see if there is a conflict somewhere but it appears to be any mod.

so.. when running amumms to make the buildframe series lua files a pak. as it says to, even choosing it to make individual files. it makes a single one called buildframe comp is that normal?

It is because the damage and otherwise effect data are simply sent from the client and received on the other end.

Anyone know of a mod that gets rid of the default vignete 50% setting when entering photo mode?
I hate that shit and would love to see it be set at 0 as default
daaaaaang that would really be another huge nudge to get mysellf some dang steam keys, if there were one
not the least of which because half the time I re-enter photo mode, either it is back to vignette 50% on the same planet and no I didn't leave or save/reload, or it is still at 0 but it has saved the cloud level at the time I took the pics, as the current default, and now the cloud level is different, and so I have to reset to defaults and then turn off the bloomin' vignette again
I remember there was a mod that sets photomode defaults but don't recall if it works anymore
actually, a quick search revealed a lua by @lunar quartz
he noted that you need to enter photomode options for it to apply tho
it's one button press compared to holding a button for 10 seconds. At some point it just goes into muscle memory

I checked out this LUA from github, would be conflicting with Duds Sky Colors
Dunno how to make a patch for both of them
you put whatever pak of dud sky color on the modscript folder together with that lua and do buildmod
it will create a patch
then you place the dud sky pak back on the mod folder together with the created patch
makes sure the patch loads after dud sky

I used the save wizard to export the ps4 save, opened the file with goatfungus, it let me edit stuff like a PC save
to change from permadeath to normal and I assume is the same process from normal to permadeath you need to create a new save with your desired settings, in this case Permadeath
then you open your normal save on save editor and export your json
then now you open the permadeath save you just created on save editor and import the json you exported from the normal save
you will have all the data from your normal save, but on permadeath save

The only thing I know about is checking mod conflicts through the AMUMSS tool. If you run it without writing any Lua scripts it will check the game for conflicts of the installed mods.

that's something I want to know how it works, I know you place the base computer and export the base and the base will appear where the base computer is
but that's basically means if you want more than one building on your base you have to build the whole thing and export all of it at once, right?
@green prairie Yes, what you build for that one base computer, is what will appear at that location you started with. You do not have to do it all at once. You can import/export to your save as often as you wish, making changes as you please

@timid burrow After backup of your saves, make a copy of your base using the JSON editor of a Save Editor. Then place a Base Computer at the new location and save. Close the game to the menu or quit. Now copy over all base parts minus the Base Computer (BASE_FLAG) from the old base to the JSON of the new base. Save and check results in-game. Once satisfied, you can remove the previous base in-game if you wish, especially if it had been uploaded.

Are there any mods that make warping easier on my system? My girlfriend crashes sometimes on warp and my FPS always goes down. Just trying to make it a bit easier on my computer
warping is the loading screen, so you're asking for something that makes loading the game not as taxing
to make loading easier would be not loading some things

@fallow meadow another question about the app, the base will be imported to the game in the location of the base computer and not the location where it was claimed right? Meaning if I move around the base computer I can change where the base will be
It will be using the position you created the base at. So if you wish to move it, you need to remove the base and initialise it at a new spot again. (Base parts are no longer relative to the base computer)
that's the issue, i don't know how to use those programs

What is the difference between home seed and model seed
IIRC the home seed determines the colour and crew and the model seed determines the shape

Vortex doesn't work well with NMS
you can use it for downloads and version tracking but otherwise you should extract the pak files and install manually

I get people all the time telling me my mods aren’t working. Using words like “enabled” “disabled” etc. So I assume they are using Vortex. I tell them to install manually and never hear from them again. Some refuse and say “it’s not Vortex, it’s because your mod isn’t made right so it doesn’t work with Vortex”. Live by the sword die by the sword.

You'll have to start a new save, but you can save edit it to a finish > PlayerStateData > SeasonState
Alternatively, just add the season rewards

we mod in a base language called exml which is a markup language, so no script injection. We have tools that use lua or C# to more easily modify the exml files rather than doing it manually in exml

It's possible to choose a starting planet biome, but the weather would have to be all or nothing.
I guess you could combine both picking a biome and then increasing the extreme weather chance on that biome

im trying to merge the flamethrower mod burnbabyburn with the unlockable expedition exclusive ship techs mod. so they both show up in the skill tree. but i cant quite get the copy and paste of the code to be stable yet
have looked at several resources for knowledge but still havent got it right yet, if you know of any good resources or can spare the time yourself to show me a couple things i would be very grateful

or put both luas on the modscript folder inside amumss folder and merge both mods
they change different things inside the same file, so shouldn't be an issue

yeah that was the next thing i was looking into doing, have done modding before but just now getting into modding NMS. Learning the mods and breaking them down to be customized and stuff. but thank you for the advice i will spend some more time in amumss and get use to the interface

To merge you just put the luas inside the modscript folder and run the buildmod.bat, and follow the instructions

okay how about if im trying to combine a couple more complicated mods and one doesnt have a .lua? was trying to see if i could get gships custom ship models combined with DUDs starship headlights. both modify more then just an average script line so not sure if its even possible lol

Yeah still couldnt get it to work correctly, but I think it has to do with both files modifying models and textures. Started with overhauling dead biome sand rock dirt colors, which led to sky colors, which led to heavy air/dust particles, which made me remember I was going to change some frozen flora coloring. So I’m trying to “tune” things. Hopefully be ready soon.

Open json editor - PlayerStateData - then find the number of your ship that you want to edit in ShipOwnership.
Still in player state data - open CharacterCustomisationData - number 3-8 (1-6) and 17-19 (7-9) is the the folder that you want to edit (let's say in ShipOwnership you want to edit your 8th ship, the right folder in CharachterCustomisationData is number 18)

No, the save file format won't accept more than 9 ships. The best you can do is export them so you can import them again later. The tool for that is over at the creative hub discord

With save editor you can install vesper sails in any kind of ship. But I don't think we can remove the sail only.

Vesper sails are just a technology that can be installed; they aren't related to the visual sails in any way. If you want a solar ship with the sails always closed, there's a mod for that. If you want to add vesper sails to a non-solar ship you can do that with the save editor like Yusa said.

amumss uses the lua to create the pak, the pak is placed in the game gamedata/pcbanks/mods/ folder. The game does not use lua files.

Probably mods which increase spawn density? 🤔 Problem is, at least from my experience, that mods changing spawning of creatures break spawning of the rare ones (they don't spawn).
shit, really? how do they break it? I fucked up my exploration guide on my home base planet (which I'm trying to max out) because discovery services was borked. When I went to another area on that planet after getting all the flora and minerals I needed, it automatically added 4 more of both flora and minerals. I just want to finish this planet I'm on lol

The rare creatures stop spawning. I had installed Redmas overhaul generator mods and as long as I had any of its features enabled (I tried to disable creatures overhaul and biome overhaul, but it didn't help), one last rare underwater creature didn't spawn. And once I disabled the mod, it instantly spawned underwater. Same in the past when I had installed Better Planet generation (which is known to cause some other things to stop spawning) with Redmas creatures overhaul. I wasn't able to find the latest creature in caves. While when I was playing with no mods due update, I usually found all creatures, even the rare ones included.
Maybe this is the mod you are looking for. But idk if it will help, as what I got, NMS has limits for how many creatures can spawn. And the mods just increase the limits. https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1826?tab=description

if you want to modify quest state/progress on your save file, then you'd use a save editor

you should not hope that the sandworm in particular would be pettable since its behaviour is more static and likely does not have pet components in its files
an oversized flying snake has visual parity and is tradable as eggs so you can just buy one from someone
Also this isn't the sandworm creature, but the titan worm one, which is supposed to be hostile to player.
And doesn't have any other features aside of being enemy, same as the biological monstrosities.

No Man's Sky - Save Editor (for FRONTIERS) is the one your trying to use, i wouldn't use it as it introduces bugs since the newer builds have a bit different things in them and when you do mod in a item or move save from console or pc to console or vice versa you'll run into issues.

The save editor i mentioned does all of the above, including inbuilt editor, and cross platform support, and is most current with all updated game files and indexing of them... and it has auto built in support and help for all the things including save migration and the sort. It overwhelmingly achieves the persons goal. But thats just my suggest.

They could just change it with hg editor too but i dont have the patience to explain that step by step, and draw up a picture chart of how to do it. lol That said... if you just wanna migrate your stuff change some flags in the hg file structure. But that sounds more complex for a novice than installing a file and just doing a simple version change/value edit and resaving it for the supported version of the build your playing. This includes inventory and all that with a load, and save (after selecting version/gamemode). Too each their own i guess

2a) When you click files its gonna look like the screenshot attached
2b) Click manual download its gonna pop up and say you need dot net 6 or whatever ignore it as you already installed it. Now select download
2c) im assuming your using edge, if not use a browser you know how to use and navigate to downloads. Im using edge for this example ms new edge
2d) In the download select the folder (this will quick open the file and where its downloaded) it will look like the screenshot attached
well minus the redacted stuff i colored out
- open the folder where its extracted (this is already done open the .exe)
3a) you’ve right clicked nomnom.zip XYZ numbers at end if not do that I will look like this
3b) select extract all as shown in the screenshot, a new window will open up select next, after you decide where your extracting it too (it will put it into its own folder unless you change the extraction file folder name

Already asked if I could have someone build it in where I could dupe it & add but that way doesn't work either unfortunately
if the "legacy" is one of the Infrastructure parts save editing wouldn't do shit anyway
so you're still better off just finding someone to build with you
Thought someone said you can get these parts unlocked..? I'm just waiting on damn truck to sell.. 🙄 too many people don't really know mechanics & bolts over 1 little thing thinking whole thing will break..
