Wow...I think I just fixed my borked freighter...I was able to add the freighter hyperdrive module that was missing so I couldn't warp anywhere. All the freighters I encountered were missing a hyperdrive module.
It can be a great tool for fixing issues, but do make sure to make HG aware as well π

I have found another π - when buying a solar spaceship, it had duplicate some essential modules, like duplicate phaser gun (it was in both cargo and tech slots).

okay so im using an editor simply because i switched from console to pc and hate the fact that i no longer have my expedition rewards. But i have a quick question when using the goatfungus editor, is it possible to use the seed of say the Normandy SR1 onto my current ship to make my ship look like the Normandy but still fly it?
No, you would need to use a mod that adds that ship. I might be adding the SR2 to the next version of gShip Custom Ships, not sure yet

not using it, but if it is like any other mod, you create a "MODS" folder inside the PCBANKS folder
and put the extracted files inside it
also delete the "DISABLEMODS.txt" file inside the PCBANKS folder or the game won't load the mods
so the MODS folder in the GAMEDATA is not good right?
don't think so, at least every instruction said to create a mods folder inside the pcbanks, and it works since I am using 2 mods

Mp simply syncs player position and interaction. Everything else is client side. So yes you can see player walking in air if their planet terrain is different

Depends what you're looking for, check the mods i posted on top, might be a few that are to your liking. Other mods i'd recommend are instant actions, instant scan, fast refiners

There're still many error-prone points in that chain of actions so I'd rather you just use the lua for AMUMSS
it's possible that you either put the pak in the wrong place or just has another pak that's overwriting it as well

Is it possible to mod or copy a save file from your PC version of NMS to a save on a PS5? As odd as it may sound, I've been enjoying playing NMS on PS5 more but I like a few of the mods that I have.

Hmm okie π. What if I only use a save editor to at least give myself items I don't have unlocked and then port that PC save (without any mods that is) over to my PS5. Would that work? Sorry for so many questions. I'm just kinda curious if there's a way to transfer a save over from one device to the next.
Taking my PC with me is a bit difficult when I travel for work all the time but I can travel with my PS5 while I'm away for a few months which is my main reason as to why I want to do this
for playstation, i'd assume the only way would be to jailbreak it which would break your PS5 warranty and could probably violate PS' terms of service. i only know of Xbox console file transfers via MS' GamePass Ultimate subscription which allows for cloud saves between PC and console. i haven't heard of PS players being able to accomplish something like that.
maybe someone else here has some other info i don't know of though

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think save editing works on PS5 at all, even if you jailbreak. PS4, yes. I could be wrong, though.

Yep. Mods need usually to be updated for the latest version. With exception of some lucky ones or mods having LUA script released, where you can compile them through AMUMSS, if it works.

dud's also rebalance combat I think, or at least space combat, no idea about "end game" but early space combat is somewhat difficulty unless you're actively improving your ship

For some reason the game is depending entirely on disablemods.txt to be there otherwise it will refuse to run
Have you tried backing up your mods, to then delete a mod one at a time, or instead remove all and add 1 at a time? Mods can break the game when it updates. We have had plenty updates recently. maybe you find one mod being the culprit, while others still work. A broken mod will likely see an update soon again
@fallow meadow yeah I've tried one mod that was updated to 4.03 to make sure and it still doesn't run. Even removing all traces of any modding, the game will not open unless disablemods is present, regardless if I have mods or not. Renaming it to enablemods still presents the same issue. The game is having a tantrum and refusing to run unless it's vanilla.
It's mind boggling and I don't know if I have the patience to figure out what's going on :')
That makes me wonder if there is another issue at play. Although you said running the game with mods was no issue before.

no mods dont go into the PCBANKS folder they go into the MODS folder
the only thing you need to do in the pcbanks folder to do is to delete the disablemods.txt file

no. i try launch via Vortex to use my mods like i did before 4.0 and now NMS wont launch. and i made sure the DISABLEMODS.txt was gone. for some reason my game wont launch without the text file. all my mods are updated too.

The simplest thing to do would be to make a mod that increases the reward for dismantling "Obsolete Technology".
Right now, dismantling "Obsolete Technology" only provide 2 Wiring Loom and 50 Nanite Clusters, but it should be doubled.
In fact, I don't understand why I only get 2+50, because the file says 4+100!

With Save Editor, yes you can, you'd have to edit the following Raw JSON for the ship you want. Below it is my ship [0]. Then make sure to add and pay attention to correct formatting. You also want to make sure the location to add actually is an active slot. (X=column starting at 0, Y=row, starting at 0)

Both use wwise and BNK archives
For extraction you can just use 2077's bnk tool

but there are mods that lets you save whenever you want via an emote

it even encourages you to scale down the size of the thing to the smallest possible so it gets easier for you to at least aim for X9%
The fact is, it may say 99%, but you could be hitting 99.999% and that is factored into rate. In the end, it makes a negligible difference - you're gonna hit diminishing returns by your 3rd Extractor on an S Class spot, and your 6th on a C Class spot either way.

@fading sequoia Some friends with save edit capability is the only workaround of any sort. They could make exact copies of your bases and upload exact duplicates, allowing you to delete them without losing access, but you'd need them to be present if you wanted to edit them.

I would suggest to always make sure you have proper backup of your save files before making any edits. That way you can mess up all you wish, without risk of losing anything. Either way values in the save editor are 0-255, while we refer to them in-game as 1-256. It is possible to edit the value 256 (galaxy 257), but as explained, it is actually sort of a glitched version of an existing galaxy.

The JSON editor is for editing raw data.

It is indeed a java application that runs through a batch file. The .exe is just a self-extracting archive, which will provide the expected files.

Also make sure to create a backup of your saves first

No need for that when using the editor
Ok, so you select the Raw JSON editor through the 'Edit' tab up top
A new window pops up
Left side has a folder like structure
- symbol expands
You will have to expand 'PlayerStateData'
ok
Then you need to scroll down to 'PersistentPlayerBases' (likely about halfway down)
More or less directly above various ones starting the name with Chest....

Expand 'PersistentPlayerBases' and you will see numbers surrounded by square brackets
The amount of numbers can vary, depending on the amount of bases you own as well as possibly other player bases
I have a sub folder called [0]
You will have to click each number [0], [1], [2], while checking the right side data for clues about the base selected.
Top numbers starting at [0] are all yours
I only have one base π so this should be it right ?
So click [0], verify by clicking in the right side data, where you scroll all the way down for 'Owner' info as well as base name and more

Then we can most likely assume it to be the correct base.
In this case you wish to delete the base, correct? Or do you wish to try move it up above terrain to not lose it?
move it of thats possible to do ?
Because if it is, deleting it, will not delete it from the server, as this only happens through interaction with the Base Computer
Which is why moving is likely the best solution, after which you can actually still decide to properly delete

Either way ... at the top of the Save Data for your base (you were already in it), you will see BaseVersion, GalacticAddress and Position, correct?

I know it would be a wild guess, but we need to try an estimate.
It will be some trial and error either way, as I am too lazy to do the vector math for this
its ok π I can play around until I can see it π
The Position shows 3 values as follows:
"Position":[
120.1693115234375, <--- X
433.9227294921875, <--- Y
-422.38427734375 <--- Z
],
Y is the height value, but these depend on the Forward vector as well. So try alter the Y value by adding/subtracting and then save after closing the editor window, then save again on the Main tab.
Then check in game to see how it moved
Go back in to adjust some more, rinse repeat until you can get to the base again
Ok, so if you think it is about 10u down, increase the 2nd value by adding 10 to it. Make sure to leave formatting in tact.

If need be we can possibly further tweak some things, or try an alternative solution by placing a new base computer in-game, use that to copy the previous base data to, to then make things easier to go from

Place a base computer in-game, somewhere near or any location for that matter
Then save the game and exit to main menu.
Open the editor again, look for this new base that has appeared in the list
