if they could update NPCs to move around more, they could maybe change the biology scans to actually find living things on board

"better gameplay" like grinding nanites and quicksilver, throwaway secondary missions for vendor trash, and marginal stat bonuses on equipment that ultimately hardly matters because there's next to no difficulty curve?

Atlas Rises was an era full of hope. But instead of focusing on improving what was already there and looking good, they kept on adding more stuff that look like early drafts more often than not.

forced intro base may have been ok if the game had strong survival elements, but it really doesnt as it wont take you long to get a free freighter and most of the important stuff except geobays can be done from there

Weird biome is static. Mega Exotics are uninspired and use recycled assets/objects tables from other biomes.

It's honestly very vague, I don't know why it's classified as its own mode. But every save now has a seasonal game mode data bit attached to it now
They might have removed that but it was added at one point, which is what makes me think it's not a full on mode on its own. More like add on info to track progress or something.

So they don't have to actually update the game for it to "evolve" over time.
Maybe, some of those are things that are part of your save data so they might have been required fields that aren't used, like ship and weapon seeds
that'd be my best guess if they exist elsewhere - and just the tool used to decompile doesn't have enough information fo figure out more complex inheritance
honestly i have no real good guesses, but it being attached to the save data makes me think maybe it's not it's own mode on its own
maybe they'll let you track progress/QS using your NMS friend code instead of your save file lol, idk
or maybe it's exactly what everyone who hates MP would hate to hear, and it's a game mode that gets changed every now and then purely for MP
It think it might be a ingame editor 'mode', to place and configure NPC and such. If they ever mode away from the current mission structure and I'd expect such tools to appear over time

Hrrrm. To properly aerial survey a planet, it seems you may want to take vertical shots every .10 degrees whichever direction you're going to stitch together the shots into a chart...

Without a height reading it's too complicated for me though

this time, for some reason, it was playing ocean ambience. Like waves on a beach sound effect.
I'm thinking it may have been a bug, as I had just died from falling under the terrain in a permadeath save, and there is water under the terrain so it may have bugged out loading a sound associated with that
but it was still pretty out of place, and a little unsettling considering the lore around the Abyss being ocean related.

Also noticing more this time the slight variances in my camera pitch/rotations, which are probably also part of why I had some trouble getting a good chart from my shots last time.

I'm glad you like my work so much, yes I have the intention to finish it, but until just now I didn't have access to all of the back catalog of dialog because no one thought to post it anywhere I could find, except in a bunch of random YouTube videos because as has been pointed out there arnt a lot of ppl that even noticed or cared about that part of the dialogue for a while. But thanks to the nice people here I have that dialogue to work with. I will get to it when I have time, but like many I have to do that around a full time job and RL commitments. If you would like to help fill in the blanks we all would love the assistants. Also yes the formatting is terrible, and I'm open to suggestions for improvement. The goal is to make it more readable and reader friendly as stright data dumps are not the easiest thing for ppl that don't understand the code to follow.

@willow stirrup Manual warp through the core messes your equipment up in the same way, iirc. I got caught out by this on my permadeath save and died due to having no tech and no resources to repair with π
