@sullen sundial There are two ways to get Glyphs. The first is to find travelers and buy a grave location from them (100 nanites). Go to the grave and extract the glyph. This is often bugged, and graves often don't give a glyph (this is supposed to be / is patched).
The second method is to do the Artemis/Apollo/-null- questline. It starts as "Awakenings" and goes quite a while, and you meet a bunch of different folks along the way. After the quests are complete, when you finish the quest named "16/16/16", every time you warp, you get a new glyph. If really pushed, the Artemis/Apollo/-null- questline can be done in 10-15 hours.

Resets are only available if you're really far away from where the quest is currently taking place. So a black hole usually lets you reset, if the mission can be reset. Not all of them can.

But:
There are multiple ways to go to a different galaxy. There are 255 of them, total. (Almost) everyone start in Euclid.
For any of these, it's important to put down a base in Euclid first, so you can always get back to Euclid. Always put a base down in a galaxy you want to return to.
- Mission-wise, when you finish the Artemis questline, you'll get the opportunity to "reset" the universe, which actually gives you a choice of 4 new galaxies to go to, choose one. The most popular one from that choose is Eissentam, a galaxy with a higher percentage of lush planets. It's the green icon.
- You can go to the center of any galaxy, and it will take you to the next galaxy in the sequence. The one after Euclid is the Hilbert Dimension.
- If you're lucky or persistent, you can find a base in a different galaxy on the bases shown at the Teleporter Terminal on the Anomaly.
- Or you can ask for a ride - join the game of another player who is currently in a different galaxy. Warp away from them and put down a base in an unpopulated system. Then you can always use a teleporter to return to the 2nd galaxy.

Ah ok @hoary robin Because during one of the Egg quests, a portal jump appeared for me in space, which took me far away from where I was. The green mission line showed, but after about 10 jumps, I decided to use the Space Station to teleport back to where I more or less started. Egg mission system appeared again within range now

I kept getting the option to hatch, I flee but had no random events trigger.
