Buy a void egg. Void eggs can be purchased from the Quicksilver Shop on the Anomaly for 3200 QS.
Keep the egg in your inventory, and go out to space. Start pulse jumping in any direction. Jump for a solid minute or two, until you get a scanning sound and notice a message saying "anomaly detected, exit pulse to examine" and your starship communicator will light up.
