Thing is, I'd like unpredictable events you're thrust into, but only if it's on survival, and even then I'd want them to go all out.
Like it's too dangerous to stay in space and someone lets you enter their freighter for cover if your standing is good enough, then you help them defend the freighter from within otherwise you're not going anywhere.. stuff like that.

And on normal.. that wouldn't happen. Almost like there'd be a different game mode for the game, not just the same exact things but grindier.

here's what I think might realistically happen with this update:

1. new bot race will probably not be in the usual 3 race systems, but might be in some abandoned systems (maybe those will use the new space station designs we saw)
2. new story bit that will be as long as the other story bits like living ship, trace of metal etc. where you start getting all the body customization stuff
3. same story bit might also cover the staff which I think will likely be an exosuit upgrade
4. pirate freighters will probably be a random event similar to freighter rescue events, and you'll just be fighting a freighter like you do with sentinel freighters
5. few QoL stuff in relation to all the above

What's interesting is that No Man's Sky has always been about "the 3 races". Does this mean that the lore isn't fixed? That the lore is being changed?

Or maybe it's referencing back to something about the lore where there used to be more alien races but then only 3 were left. Maybe because the of the World of Glass becoming more prominent and bleeding into the Atlas reality, anything that was previously "deleted" and the memory of it's existence stored in the WOG, the deleted things are coming back into this reality.

Actually, I'm kinda thinking maybe those leaked space stations are the things we are going to fight

I mean, the article was talking about star-wars style ship fighting flying in trenches and all that, that can't be happening with the current freighters, we'd need something massive to fight... Like a space station

They look full of loops and holes and things that would be fun to fly through, I think maybe they're going for death-star-style space battles

But then, no idea if the override is going to take any part in that

I think we have to remember that what was in the article was quite possibly written by someone given the update for review who barely knows anything about the game, I'm essentially saying that take everything with a grain of salt because what the reviewer meant by what they wrote might be very different from our interpretation of what they wrote

Also a lot of the time these articles are written by people who have deadlines they have to meet, so they might have written this without playing it at all and just writing based on what they were told would be in the update by someone

I believe the poster is real, but I hesitate to believe that the person who wrote that article actually saw the update or was told anything official from hg

My theory about the ARG is there could be a second bigger update this year like a Echos part 2 since its weird we barely got any ARG and this is the big update of the year.

Unless we're getting a huge overhaul next year and the ARG is just gonna happen throughout the next year until then.

I think there is no ARG and that what Sean meant was ARG-style clues and that it was a misunderstanding

There's only ever been one ARG in the past and it was 5 years ago, there's no reason to assume they would do one

I don't know sounds kind of misleading to me tbh I would've worded it way better if that was the case tbh. It's kind of lackluster otherwise especially when comparing it to Waking Titan which is the only thing we had to compare it to so I wouldn't say expectations were out of reach of that especially with the fans wanting a Waking Titan styled ARG that lead to more.
