i disagree that it's a timeloop. i think it's kind of a meta thing about the static nature of the simulation (/game). admitedly this is something i've been thinking about myself recently but you can't do anything that drastically alters the state of a system - restore atlas control to a pirate system/drive out the sentinels to become a pirate system, turn a failing economy around, etc. any changes you do make are minor and temporary (for example, economic responses to dumping a cargo load of chlorine or activated indium, or temporarily fighting sentinels to a standstill). utopia is an attempt by entities within the simulation to change it (to un-infest the expedition system), and running up against the issue that (unbeknownst to them) the simulation will always reset their changes in order to maintain the status quo. ....but that's just my interpretation.

Hi everyone. I recently started the game and got to the point of just before The Purge. Before I went ahead I then did the Atlas quest and got all 16 glyphs as well as using the heart of the sun. After looking online it seems the majority of players think finishing these quests is a waste of time and only good for the glyphs. Would you guys say the same thing?

The helmet's not yet available. It'll likely be available on all platforms. That announcement is more about Switch now being able to do Nexus missions and getting QuickSilver.

Playing No Man's Sky using the HidHide drivers for a Dualsense controller triggers it to load the development environment for NMS

But it also makes the game unplayable and causes a lot of whacky stuff

I agree, but I just found out, after having already done 90% fully, you don't need to craft it. Only start the process and hit stop. I wasted 750 chromatic metal on stupid antimatter bypass crap. Worst recipe ever

im pretty sure the only reason that atlas is simulating 18 quintillion planets is because its repeating '16' to itself.

i think the atlas has infinite processing power, somehow.

It can simulate itself millions of times over in a timespan so small it feels like an eternity passes in a second

If memory serves right, there was something like Atlas Pass v4 in the game files when Waypoint dropped, it was supposed to be used in expedition

Since we didn't get it now, does it mean the idea was scrapped? Does it still exist in the files?
