i'm guessing most of the people here came for NMS, some stayed for the community, but with interest in NMS fading out most of the interest here is too, since the main talking point is gone. People aren't interested in discussing here anymore. I've heard that you guys want it to be not just an NMS channel, but it can be hard - they need a compelling social circle to stay here, I guess, and if there's nothing to talk about anymore why not just retreat to your own private servers or head to other, more active pub chats.

Click on a base from the suggested and then "subscribe", close the steam overlay and you'll see a list of your subscribed bases

if you want people to visit your base in other modes the best way would be to share your system's coordinates

land vehicle controls aren't great
accell and brake should be triggers while left stick should be steering and right stick should be camera
guns can be shoulder buttons or something
or guns can be face buttons while boost and jump is shoulders
either way it's been a very long time since I played a game where stick controls accell and it just does not feel good
especially since your ship uses triggers for accel/brake/reverse, it's just unintuitive for the ground vehicles to control completely different
anyways that's just my opinion as a pc playerr with controller and I think ps4 playerrs who have no choice might agree since driving games generally use that kind of scheme
right now I can't figure out how to accelerate and steer separately at the same time in a land vehicle, it would be nice if we could just do that intuitively like a typical driving game. the ship already pretty much does that so surely the land vehicles could too?

for the purposes of the ARG, could we maybe have a new channel for people new to WT, especially so they can discuss who is or isn't an NPC/PM? Maybe hand-in-hand with @gritty trench 's suggestion of making a rule that we play along with NPCs, should they visit.
I think this could help so that people who want to discuss NPCs don't feel silenced, and give them a safe space to play conspiracy detectives without making the lives of the NPC actors difficult (and hey, maybe they will be inclined to visit if they know they won't be questioned or harrassed)

Here's one of my suggestions: Take one of the unused NPCs within freighters and turn them into a navigator that the player can utilize to find their location relative to the center of the galaxy they're currently residing in. With this new navigator, it would also put to use the giant globe in the center of the bridge, and it would show things like the center of the galaxy, your location, your home base location, and maybe even the location of a far-away system waypoint.
