I am having my doubts Expedition Seven can be completed. [Question]
I have over 23 hours into the expedition. This is my third attempt, but all I run into are problems and setbacks. The game froze on me at one point, and I thought this was it again. Fortunately, the game did not count it as a death.
The discovery services are offline. This reoccurring problem needs to be fixed by HG. This means every player base and marker does not show up. As a result, I am entirely on my own, no planets have been discovered, and I will lose any credit for discoveries that other travels may already recorded.
I am trying to find the second fallen traveler. It is in very steep mountains, so I have to be careful not to fall, but I have to use the jetpack to get anywhere. Others have said never to use it in Permadeath. So I decided to try doing short jumps in my starship to get to it. Even this is hard because there are so few places I can land. When I can land, the direction and distance change dramatically. I have markers down that confirm it changes. This may be related to the discovery services being offline. I have been trying to get to the spot for over an hour and have not even come close to it.
Another challenge is I cannot find a multitool better than a C class. Without a better multitool, there is no way I will take on a derelict freighter or sentinels. All I hear is how hard they are in this mode. So without a better multitool than the default, I am not even going to try.
I am stubborn, so I wanted to complete this expedition. However, it is only making me hate the game. It will most likely take 40+ hours to finish at the rate I am going. All I do is worry about dying again, which for me is not fun. Even using the jet pack concerns me.
I realize others have completed it already, so I have no idea why I keep having issues. However, I am close to uninstalling the game and finding something better to do. I can see it...
