You can also build bases in "orbit". You place down a base computer, build stairs going up, then when you reach the edge of the build zone, place another base computer and carry on building up. Rinse and repeat, then start making your base in the goddamn stratosphere.

there are the "Huge"(and the lush) types ("Megaexotics) and the "dead" types. ("weirds")

Huge type has the filters, dead type has the moonlike surface and strange minerals like shattered glass

Try going to your settings folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\SETTINGS and deleting all three. Your game manager will replace them with clean defaults

It gets boosted if they're touching and boosted a bit more if they're in the squares. If you have a free space you can move them with a button press (on Xbox it's x)

Like in my tech slot on my ship I have my hyperdrives and 3 s class upgrades making a 2 by 2 square. Then the emergency warp unit and the 3 system upgrade drives below it forming a line. The system and emergency don't add to the boost if touching but I like how they light up when they do touch.

Umm maybe it is new with the living ship update but it lets you go into hyperdrive while in combat to flee a star system.

It supposedly gets damaged if used though and is needing "constant" repair. I've never used it yet.

You also can't plot where you go. It shoots you to a random star system.

Description is "A significant upgrade to the Hyperdrive that allows an instantaneous warp even while conventional systems are blocked by star ship combat. Access to the emergency warp system is via the quick menu. WARNING: Fast scramble systems mean the user is unable to plot a destination. Uncalculated lightspeed events will damage the unit and require frequent repairs."

@solemn dew You don't need to delete anything from your tech on your ship to rearrange as you can move the stuff to the general area. Only the tool needs a deletion because it doesn't have a storage.

@solemn dew There's also another VERY helpful thing you can get which seems to come standard on every new ship after the update, but it's called a launch system recharger and actually recharges your fuel for your launch thrusters when your ship isn't being used.

Basically makes launch thruster fuel obsolete.
