The terminology is wacky. Space stations, even abandoned ones, hold tranporters.

Transporters are technolgoy found on stations, or can be built in bases, that transport you from transporter to transporter. Any station you've visited you can return to.

Portals are large buildings / structures on planets that look like Alien ruins. They require Glyphs (portal4 portalf ) to work.

As rare as they are, they're the cheapest S class ride you'll find.

When you want to fly an exotic, you're sacrificing inventory space for stat bonuses. They get a 'best of all worlds' bonus to all 3 attributes

They do high damage, have a strong shield, and have explorer level hyperdrive gas mileage

The 'next best' all-rounder to an exotic is actually IMO, an A or an S class shuttle. The shuttle's gonna have slightly worse stats but I think you can get up to like 28 slots on one

I started with acquiring the best multi-tool I could, currently an A/23 experimental rifle and slapping 3 S tier scanner upgrades on it

I have seen as much as 416K units for scanning one animal

From there, I built a teleporter next to a trading post in an Advanced Materials, Scientific & Trading systems, I start at Advanced Materials and buy all their trade goods, take it to Scientific and sell there, then take Science stuff and sell at the Trading one; I'll make a few million that way. Not a lot.

Beyond that, I'm not the guy to ask, my save in game has like 450K to his name right now because I've been buying Cargo Slot upgrades for a million a pop, i think i'm at 36 slots now

Can't build underground, because sooner or later, the dirt grows back as you do more terrain edditing. let's say you got 100 dirt movement that will be save, and you use 75 putting cubes underground. as you go do missions and whatnot, using your terrain tool here and there, you will start reseting the first dirt edits you did, making dirt grow back inside. Which is a nasty suprise because it seems fine for a while, until you start chewing into your bank of savable terrain edits, and then it's a nightmare.
