couple questions about system names and the galaxy map: (a) I have visited a system I named "Peoria." If I poke around in the galaxy map and follow the lines linking systems I can find it. When I mark it in the Discoveries using middle mouse button to "Set Waypoint" I see nothing in the galaxy map. I suspect that this is because I have not advanced sufficiently in the story? (I have not yet visited an Atlas terminal); (b) it seems that every system I have renamed continues to display the original procedurally generated system name in the galaxy map. Is this a known bug? In some cases it has been 48+ real life hours since these changes were uploaded.

on the galaxy maps systems with changed names do not label with their changed names IIRC, I think this is to make it easier for players who have also been in the system to find it more easily, I have tons of systems named absurd things but the name doesnt change on the galaxy map

The fact that HG have chosen to make this first ship type upgrade the "Corvette" which is effectively the smallest class of modern day warships suggests to me the possibility that the intend to flesh out the ship class hierarchy more fully in future (but are wisely keeping tight lipped about it, given their remarkable history with over hyping 😜 ): Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Battlecrusiers, Carriers, Dreadnoughts . . . so many ship classes we shall explore in the shade our fleets cast on every planet surface! 🤯

personally my in-game hobbies include searching for massive anomalies in space and in the ocean, driving my exocraft on zero-g planets and messing with gravity, digging up ancient bones and putting them together wrong to make horrific creatures to display, fighting pirates for fun, scanning every animal on each planet, trying to fill out my collections by hunting down rare materials, learning the language of the 4 different species so I can interact with them, running short missions for small rewards, building a ship that looks like a damn Nokia phone ffs, and trying to beat my biome records like hottest planet, deepest ocean, most reality-glitched and so on

theres a lot of economy stuff, theres factions you can rise in standing with, you can run planetary settlements, the storyline is really good imo but quite short. Base building, freighters & freighter building, now there's corvettes which let you basically make your own starship with a full custom interior and whatnot. Different galaxies, farming, fishing, be a pirate, expeditions are cool. Other stuff ive missed and other stuff that hasn't been added yet

NMS can be considered a sandbox with main quest lines sprinkled in. Its what you make of the game. If you like exploring...do it, base building...do it, make resource factories...do it, Scanning various creatures...do it, build and collect ships...do it. Its rather hard for someone to explain all there is to do and what you may like, especially since everyone has different interests. I enjoy the game. I have one save on PC at 120 hours in and another on ps5 with 107 hours. Now I am looking forward to Switch 2 when the expedition unlocks for it.

when you buy tech modules with a race that you're in good standing with, you get a discount, but you can sell them back at full price. So just buy all the tech and sell it back. i make 5k nanites by doing this at a single space station with a 50% discount
